I really liked volt forge, but ice belt, fury green and the volcano were so underwhelming. I started noticing a pattern with the map layouts, all of them were in layers (floors) with super one dimensional and flat infrastructure, in contrast with the two prime games, they pale in comparison.

Absolutely. I do not doubt Retro, but reading some of their interviews about why the game is that way, I completely blame Nintendo and their decisions. It’s a game that clearly isn’t finished and the writing is…the worts of the whole series.

Metal Gear games are probably the only games where I purposely die just to see if I get a funny game over screen, codec or death scene.
