I don't want to sell art to AI slop pigs. I don't really want to sell art at all. Art is a process that usually ends with an object that can be sold as a product. The process is the actual art. The economic damage of AI is of course horrible. Our whole economic system is horrible. The worst part is the strain on our already dying natural environment and the fading of the patient and introspective skills and practices that connect humans to their deeper selves and to each other. It is another attack by the elite vampires to make the general population emotionally weak idiots ruled by fear and dependency on technology they control. If I spend a few days working on a creation, considering each line, parsing every piece through my emotions, bouncing it against my beliefs, then I have gained more than whatever I can sell it for. If I have a magical button that gives me that final creation but steals that process from me, then I have gained nothing but more time to watch television or tiktok videos. Art is a process.

The number go up plague of the tech industry. If number doesn't go up (including KPIs) it's worthless to these ghouls.

This is so true. I miss it too.

I think the best we can do is rank the level of pain of each thing will likely cause in the future, and only concern ourselves with the worst offender.

Otherwise, keep moving toward the goal until the next bit of pain slows dev enough to be unbearable. 😅

I seriously miss my capacity to write bad code, temporary solutions, "I'll rewrite this later" etc.

now I know all the problems that will happen in the future and how hard it is to solve them, so I just get paralyzed and end up doing nothing

I'm really sad now thinking about it

when I was a bad programmer and wasn't even aware of how bad I was, I shipped a game

now I'm a (relatively) good programmer and I haven't been able to even START a serious project in years because I try to future-proof everything and write good code

just go with the spaghetti, make the damn game
