An email from the superintendent of the Seattle School District that reads: “4:18 < All Inboxes Reaffirming Our Commitment to SPS Students, Staff and Families Dear SPS Families and Staff, Seattle Public Schools (SPS) remains steadfast in our commitment to providing safe, welcoming, and inclusive learning environments for every student, regardless of race, religion, national origin, immigration status, gender identity, or sexual orientation. We have a constitutional obligation to educate all students. No matter where you're from, you are welcome here. We are keeping watch for new policies that may affect our district. As new orders are introduced, we will work to provide as much clarity, calm, and stability as we can. Some of our students and families are facing hardships on their path to educational justice and living freely. The recent announcement regarding the removal of protected areas and the possibility of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) entering schools to deport students is deeply troubling to our district and community.” (Continued in next screengrab)
Continuation of the email: “4:18 < All Inboxes Reaffirming Our Co... School districts educate school-age residents regardless of the immigration status of the students or their families. To that end, state law directs school districts to limit immigration enforcement to the fullest extent possible consistent with federal and state law. SPS has adopted a procedure based on the Washington State Attorney General's Office model policy and procedure to apply to district interactions with federal immigration authorities. Read the Superintendent's Procedure on Limiting Immigration Enforcement In SPS, we respect every student's right to a safe school experience. We reaffirm that our schools are places of safety and belonging. We will not tolerate any action that disrupts our students' sense of security or their right to an equitable education. Furthermore, we stand firm in our commitment to protecting the rights of LGBTQIA+ students and staff, including nonbinary individuals. The district remains steadfast in its commitment to fostering…” (Continued in next screen grab)
Continuation of email: “…an inclusive and supportive environment. Superintendent Procedure 3211 guides our district's unwavering support for gender-diverse students. We will continue to uphold these practices to ensure every student has access to the resources, support, and respect they deserve. We are currently reviewing our relevant policies and procedures with our legal team to ensure these policies continue to provide clear information for students, their families, and SPS staff. We will work alongside families, educators, and community partners to advocate for policies that protect our students and strengthen our commitment to their academic, social, and emotional well-being. SPS is a district that will continue to stand with every student and family, ensuring their rights are upheld and their voices are heard. In solidarity, Dr. Brent Jones Superintendent”
The email we just got from the superintendent of the Seattle School District was pretty clear that they will not be following either the immigration or trans student EOs. Proud of you, SPS!
A screenshot of a multi‐column table listing several U.S. presidential Executive Orders relating to LGBTQ+ rights and antidiscrimination policies. Each row has columns for “Origin” (POTUS), “Number/Identifier” (e.g., EO 13988), “Title” (such as Preventing and Combating Discrimination…), “Action Type” (e.g., Broad Nondiscrimination, Military Nondiscrimination), “Summary” (key points of each order), and “Date Signed.” The listed orders span from early 2021 through early 2025, covering topics like preventing discrimination based on gender identity or sexual orientation, banning conversion therapy, rescinding prior harmful EOs, and restricting or expanding DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) initiatives.
A spreadsheet at the top shows columns tracking anti‐LGBTQ bills by status and year: total bills (334), 2025 bills (327), 2024 rollovers (7), how many passed committees (3), passed one chamber (5), passed both chambers (0), enacted (1), vetoed (0), failed (3), and carried forward (0). Below that, another header row lists different types of anti‐LGBTQ legislation (e.g., gender‐affirming care bans, pronoun bans, “Don’t Say Gay,” drag bans, bathroom bans) with the total count of each category (e.g., 55 for gender‐affirming care bans, 20 for pronoun bans, 14 for “Don’t Say Gay,” etc.). A color‐coded U.S. map spans the lower half, with states shaded from light orange to deep red according to how many anti‐LGBTQ bills they contain. Texas appears in the darkest red (46 bills), with lighter shades indicating fewer bills in other states. A note at the bottom right explains that the map shows total tracked bills per state, which does not necessarily reflect each bill’s likelihood of passage.
We've created a tracker that covers all executive orders affecting LGBTQ folks along with federal and state legislation.
We're at 334 anti-LGBTQ bills.

Did you get the misleading mailer signed by our very own mayor?
Harrell wants you to vote for Prop 1B because his wealthy corporate sponsors -- The Seattle Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce, Puget Sound Energy, and Microsoft -- don't want to pay taxes.
really sick of hearing how "we've always been here" and "we will survive"
a hypothetical future where 1% of us make it i guess makes that statement factual but it's not a fucking happy ending
idk i wanted to do more than just survive in some fractured, small existence
i wanted to flourish 💔

someone brought a full soundsystem on the bus and was shaking us with their music. i wasn't even mad, turns out its just phone speakers that i can't stand
whenever someone specifies the PST time zone, it actually feels like they're just trying to let me in on a secret
the bus driver this morning was so tickled that i beat him to the next stop on my electric skateboard after barely missing the bus at the previous stop
they should make silica packets that double as those party snappers that pop you when throw them at the ground. keep food safe and have a little fun. why not.
TIL that the link from Northgate to Lynnwood almost followed SR 99 (Aurora) instead of I-5 😢
i never thought i'd see a trans lesbian state rep for my hometown standing on the griz field. gives me hope, thank you
