An "All Streams" button on a website
A website screenshot showing several simultaneous live cricket matches.
In a slightly crazy "because-we-can" update, I've added an "All Streams" button on desktop browsers, which takes you full screen with all live streams playing (muted, mercifully). In case you can't get quite enough live cricket.
Bad decision. That others will follow if it works
And best (only) marketing tool county cricket has will disappear.
IMO 🏏 actually has a big advantage having an established 'home' on YouTube
Ubitquity, sharability, community, clips etc

Late in the evening OTD 1912 RMS Titanic hits one of the icebergs shown on this June 1912 chart of the North Atlantic. The Bodleian holds the Marconi archive and before the ship sank telegrams were sent both from the ship and to others in the area like this one, calling for help. @bodleian.ox.ac.uk

Happy 50th anniversary to “All the President’s Men” — a film that owes its existence to Redford, who bought the film rights, developed the script and cajoled a reluctant Woodward & Bernstein.
I thought it was “a great character study,” he said later. But, for months, “they didn’t return my calls.”
We noticed that calling Congress wasn’t moving the needle, so we shifted tactics and started pressuring businesses directly. Those businesses are now posting publicly and lobbying Congress and that happened because of you. Your voice is stronger than you think. Thank you.
One of my neighbors has a tree in their front yard that had a big limb nearly break off during the blizzard, and now even though it's cracked in half and lying on the ground, it's in a defiant full bloom.
Same, tree. Same.

In all seriousness, one thing that might be worth doing today:
Tell your Reps and Senators to call Adm. Richard Correll, the Commander of U.S. Strategic Command, which controls the nation's nukes, and remind him of *his* unique responsibility to refuse an illegal order.
The reason Moby Dick is the most American novel ever written is because it is about a violent white man enacting a confusing revenge fantasy against a cheap source of oil.
So good to have county cricket back, and to see that it’s got quite the presence here on Bluesky.
Hopefully that will continue to build across the season.

Matt Critchley currently averages 173 with the bat and 1.5 with the ball this season. Keep that up and he may get to carry the drinks for the Lions.
Happy Easter

I was already so melancholy about leaving New Orleans tomorrow and then I chanced upon a wedding second line while I was en route to dinner with @scottynola.bsky.social — and noted how much the locals were loving it. I don’t want to go! But I must.

I enjoyed listening to this last night. From 2022 and about the links between choral music and cricket. There's certainly a lot of it on here!

“The Forest Service is being dismantled. Your business runs on these lands. We need you to speak out publicly, lobby your congressional representatives, and be ready to fund the legal fight that is coming. Silence is a choice. Your customers are watching.”
Apologies, it seems the posts with details of the live streams aren’t working this morning, and I’m not able to take a look until this evening. The streams are showing up on the site though (countycricket.live).

These woollen chitons (or long tunics) have - incredibly - survived from Roman Egypt due to the dry climate. Amazing finds showing a wonderful insight into past fashions.
