(And the numbers in the tables are too small)
(And it’s cousin: you’re showing too many specifications)

I haven't read the paper, but given the implied causal pathway, surely the appropriate outcome of interest is net global deaths (increase in US but subtracting any decrease elsewhere because of the redistributed economic activity?). Maybe I am misunderstanding the paper?

Only 2 hours!?
🙋♂️ Anyone trying to form a session for AEAs? I have three papers that could work... one could fit with urban/innovation/effects of tech & AI, one is urban/health, and one is health/public. #econsky please share! 👍
This was a really fun interview about the role of ridesharing in rual healthcare access! Also an honor to cite a new paper by @jcmecon.bsky.social @conornomics.bsky.social @kteltser.bsky.social (nber.org/papers/w33077). youtu.be/MrQgqjX1BeE
I mean "niche", of course
Nice Stata Q: rdrobust appears to have removed options for manually specifying # bins or binning method (quantile, even counts, etc.). My RD now defaults to using each data point as its own bin? Is manual binning before running rdrobust the only workaround? #econsky #stata
Pitt is hiring an Open Rank position. Please help spread the word and get in touch with any questions. #econsky
Looking to create a session at #ASHEcon2025 on disability. It would fall under either Health and Development or Child and Infant Health. I need two papers. @zoemclaren.bsky.social @shooshan.bsky.social can you help amplify?
Also, I am the Health Equity Chair, so send in your health equity papers.
Starting in 15 mins in Kalorama!
10am Saturday at Southerns in the Kalorama room. I'm presenting very new work with Jonathan D Hall and Joshua Madsen on The Effects of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems. Hope to see you there!
I would even add: please shamelessly promote your work
One terrific thing I enjoyed on old Twitter was discovering new papers
Trust me, you will have an audience if you share your work on Bluesky
Grateful to the NBER for sharing our work! Just 19 days ago, we thought posting a thread and sharing only on X made sense... but Bluesky's growth over just the past three weeks has been amazing! (Note: paper is now forthcoming at JHealthEcon!) @jcmecon.bsky.social @kteltser.bsky.social
Find myself using phrases like "the changes I document" instead of "the changes I find" and "For instance" instead of "For example" and I just know I picked them up from constantly reading ChatGPT output. 🙃
New life goal: have my research be sufficiently focused that I get into *one* starter pack!
Am I health? Labor? Urban? Econ History? Who knows! 🤣
This is great! Thanks @shooshan.bsky.social !
Also using it today… and I’m in the data in 2013! 😀
I've created a starter pack I'm calling "Education economics and policy", based on folks I follow in this area.
Please let me know if I've missed you!

#EconSky Labor colleagues, IZA is here, but not getting much engagement for their one post 11 mos. ago. Please follow or like the one post -- with some engagement, I can lobby them to post much more here. bsky.app/profile/iza....
I'm looking to create or join a health econ session for the EEA meeting in NYC February 21, 2025 to Sunday, February 23, 2025 - www.ramapo.edu/eea/51th-ann... #Econsky 📉📈 please share!
Put a problem set for my Labor Econ class through Chatgpt... let's just say it did a *lot* better than it did last year!
Anyone have any tips or tricks to get funding for seminar speakers? It seems most departments (e.g., science & engineering) at my school expect those visits to be covered by faculty grants

Made my own website (www.conorjlennon.com) from scratch this evening in about 90 minutes. Can’t believe I’ve been paying for a website builder just to make a simple static website for years. 🤦🏻♂️
‘Rent is the most you pay, mortgage is the least’ … hmmm
Why is outlook so bad? I just want to be able to quickly respond to an email while also being able to see my calendar!
n=1 but my wife and I decided against going for Tesla solar because of Musk
Especially challenging for academics as they are usually living quite a distance from their parents while also having a limited support network in their new location. I've often thought this job would be so much easier if I could just work in my hometown in Ireland!
Funny ‘ha ha’ or funny ‘weird’? 😂
