Woohoo! Congrats!
Whew! My latest PET scan shows no evidence of disease! My previous scans 3 months ago were inconclusive due to a lot of inflammation, But 3 months off the Keytruda/Lenvima combo, it’s resolved! I get 3 more months without tests, scans or visits! #cansky #oncosky #endometrialcancer
Just FYI, the cansky hashtag is used for cancer-related discussions. But we have a lot of Canadians here too!
No, you just look for another doctor & make an appointment for a consultation. Let that doctor know that you are seeing a second opinion. You may wish to check with your insurance provider to find out if/how your plan covers second opinion visits.
Woohoo!
Endometrial cancer here. I was in active treatment almost all of 2025 (off Keytruda/Lenvima since September until my next scan in Feb). The amount of damage these life-saving meds inflicted on my body is staggering. Here’s to more recovery in 2026!
RadOnc techs are the absolute best! One of mine recognized me a year after he assisted with my brachytherapy treatments. They are adept at managing patients’
awkwardness while being superbly efficient.
I am so sorry-it is all too much. And I have no advice to give you, except to remind you that you will get through this.
I hope you have leftover pie to snack on!
I’ve told all my friends that if I ever hear them refer to my cancer as a “journey” or a “battle,” that I will haunt them after I’m gone.
This is such a powerful piece of writing.
I am so sorry. Fuck cancer! And I second getting a second opinion on the treatment options offered. It never hurts.
Hi Jodie - You might not reach your all of intended audience with the CanSky hashtag. It’s used on this platform for all things cancer-related. Maybe try CanadaSky?
Sometimes I go back to previous reports to compare them to the latest versions. I also go back and re-read physicians’ notes after a bit of time has passed to check for errors or to prepare for an upcoming visit.
Ugh! I am so sorry. #fuckcancer
It never gets any easier no matter how many scans you have. Hang in there.
I’m so sorry for that devastating news. Wishing you peace.
That it appears to be AI written at least makes it suspect of containing inaccuracies, especially without any citations.
Woohoo!!! My MRI looked good PET in 2 weeks to see if I’m still NED. I hope to join your club.
And yet you are still here. Keep on keeping on!
When people tell me “ You look so good!!!” due to my cancer medication-induced weight loss, my typical response is “You don’t want my diet plan.” If they push for my “secret” I give it to them with both barrels. “Ok, so you start with post-menopausal bleeding, then a biopsy…”
Unbelievable. The ignorance & stupidity multiplies exponentially.
Then I agree with your decision to stop it. Quality of life is important. My neuropathy lessened over time after I finished chemo, but I still have some residual numbness in my fingers & toes. Hopefully yours will resolve as well.
I was on Carboplatin & paclitaxel for a recurrence of endometrial cancer. When the peripheral neuropathy got to the point of interfering with daily activities, my oncologist cut the paclitaxel dosage in half for the remainder of chemo treatment. A reduced dose may be an option.
See, venting on this platform works! Just got notified that my PET was rescheduled for 3 weeks out.
Trying to deal with the frustration & abject terror of having to wait 6 weeks for a PET scan to determine if I am indeed having a 3rd recurrence. The only advice: Keep calling imaging to see if they’ve had a cancellation. #cansky #oncosky #thesystemisbroken
Nervous waiting room feet - MRI to determine if I’m having a 3rd recurrence of #endometrialcancer #cansky #oncosky #fuckcancer
I forgot to mention- ask your port nurse to confirm that you are using the lidocaine cream correctly. You don’t rub it into the skin - put a big glob on top of the port & cover it (Glad press-n-seal works great) to keep it in place. Do that at least 30 mins to an hour before your port is accessed.
Ugh. So sorry to hear this. I’m lying awake waiting for my alarm to go off for an MRI that will determine if I’m having a 3rd recurrence of #endometrialcancer At least I will meet with one of my oncs later today, and not have the waiting game. Hang in there.
