Reading a horror book a friend got me. The main character is a Christian youth. You'd think this is a poor parody of what growing up evangelical is like but my mother was friends with a woman who wouldn't let her daughters watch Space Jam because of the 30 second scene with a fortune teller in it.

The new one feels like playing with Fischer Price Megablocks. It's so condescendingly inoffensive and simple. Summoner was my starter Job, so it really sucks not only losing the mechanics I liked, but having them replaced with something so braindead to play.

I moved on to Blackmage as my main. @_@

When the game is built around gear progression and the game drops some mid-level gear on you that completely invalidates the early game progression because you pre-ordered or the game happened to be bundled with some DLC.

Why? Why ruin your own game like that?

When the player has status effect spells but the random battles are too weak to bother with them and the bosses are all immune to them.

I hate it when games give you the information to piece together the plot like 5x over, but all of the characters act like the most obvious conclusion is completely beyond their comprehension. Then someone drops the truth 5 hours in and the characters are like :O

It's a shame bigots beat us to the term "transvestigate" because that would have been a killer bit of nomenclature for someone trying to explore being trans.

I know this is weirdly random, but it feels like way too many deer furs are entirely unaware that antlers just pop off and grow back regularly. lol

Deer shed and regrow their antlers yearly. They're only hard and made of bone for around half the year. They're mostly made of cartilage while growing and covered in fuzzy skin called "velvet". Once they harden into bone deer make a bloody mess rubbing the velvet off, revealing the finished rack.

I hate twitch drops. Dune Awakening did twitch drops for building sets and I'm still paranoid I missed some. Who drops fractions of building sets during different events?

Stylized games age better. Like the new resident evil looks pretty photorealistic now, but give it a few years and I'm sure it'll look like ass.

My brain has two modes:

One: I'm happy by myself. If anyone asks me to hang out I'll get annoyed at the sudden social obligation.

Two: I need to hang out. Being alone is literal torture.

And like nothing in between and switching between them is like pulling teeth from a stone.

It turns you into a video game character almost, where if you're hit, the shroud takes the damage, and then so long as the shroud is dense enough, the damage is filled in from the remaining spirit matter and you look unharmed. It has to be torn apart first to actually harm the one inside.

The mages of my world have a technique they use called a "shroud" where they import spiritual matter into the physical world and encapsulate themselves in it to form a "battle form" around themselves. It looks very much like shapeshifting, for instance I might wrap myself in the form of Hades.

I had to go into device manager and show hidden devices to clear out the old Bluetooth drivers and then also uninstall the Bluetooth devices before any of them would work again.

Fuck Windows 11.

Apparently if you swap out a Bluetooth adapter with a new one—the wireless card I just got in this case—Win 11 still considers the old Bluetooth "functional" & any devices connected under it are effectively locked to it. The new Bluetooth hardware can't connect to it or even remove it to reconnect.

Another new wireless card. I swear if this one starts to BSoD I don't know what to do.

Do macro's use a literal airplane when feeding their offspring?

*sigh* All the effort I put into solving the issue with my wireless card was pointless. It's still throwing BSoD.

Having food in your mouth and feeling a sneeze coming on has to be up there in one of the most unpleasant situations.

Yeah. I honestly gave it a good try, but I got frustrated with it's clunkiness and decided to call it quits.
