In principle they'd all be forced to halt use of Claude Code as well as Claude via other coding tools like Antigravity. Trump is betting that the loss of revenue will force Anthropic to cave quickly. My bet is that he's underestimated Anthropic's CEO.

I would add that it's unprincipled FOMO. The industry is still figuring out best practices, and yet educators are told to forge ahead without that knowledge. Today's practices could be obsolete in a couple of years even.

Trained LLM impetus to solve problems and reduce friction for users may mean steering users away from social supports, and sycophancy toward social isolation suicide - all as less anxious and exhausting options. Simulated empathy gone wrong.

Salesforce drank the neoliberal Kool-Aid, that AI enables automation and replacement of human labor, choosing to throttle to minimize burn rate. Enshittification. This Western approach is ignoring the potential for productivity gains by amplifying what humans can do by empowering them in place.

The US administration is basically participating in 4chan-adjacent meme trolling online. This may very well be deliberate strategy to connect with young male voters, a direct propaganda channel bypassing conventional media.
