SHOWCASE PRESENTS AMBUSH BUG Artist KEITH GIFFEN Writers PAUL KUPPERBERG PAUL LEVITZ ROBERT LOREN FLEMING Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman stand together, upset; they all have green skin. Ambush Bug kneels in front of them, pleading “‘SMATTER, GUYS--CAN'TCHA TAKE A LITTLE JOKE?”
Where is the DC Ambush Bug movie?
Thank you! We knew going into it that the issue, as do some others in the late Levitz era, posed some wonderful ideas to scrutinize.

Not too impressed with Batwoman. Green Arrow is the hero of Arcadia. The others were fine.
I think we're getting diminishing returns on the DC/Marvel xovers? I enjoyed the surprise at the end of Superman Unlimited. I liked Cowyn's art on Nightwing. The Groundhog Day plot in Titans went on a bit.

Alison & Adam are one of the all time great comic book couples, up there with Jack & Roz and with Amanda & Jimmy. Both fabulous artists, but Adam might be THE brightest star in my generation of US superhero comics artists, who taught and inspired so many of us.

Godspeed, Sid Krofft. Thanks for the memories.
I just came across this while looking for something in an old blog of mine. I had completely forgotten I had a short story ("For the Uniform") published in this now defunct online magazine!

Hah! I’ve been gone from my old job for over a year and I’m still bitching about it!
For an innovative company product-wise, they were very slow in implementing change in other areas. When I left, after having spent over a decade trying to convince them we needed to provide our literature in multiple languages, they didn’t want to because it was too expensive.
I also changed the typewriter induced formatting for italics (underlining text) to actual italicized text. (When the company first started making product manuals, they were typed. When they started using MS Word, they kept the underlining habit for some reason.)
One sticking point was “data” as a plural noun (“data are”). I had so many engineers tell me that the Style Guide was wrong & proceed to tell me why. I would then tell them that’s something our company founder, CEO, & ultimately your boss had decided a few decades before. 🤷♂️
The company had a Style Guide, which my team used religiously and who would constantly point to in order to show the engineers that they were, in fact, wrong (some engineers really didn’t like that).
I also really loved it when newly graduated engineers would tell me I was wrong about this or that when I had been editing for over 30 years. I would politely point them to sources showing them I was correct.
I worked at an engineering firm that used an en dash in place of the em dash (with spaces around it!) & it is one of my greatest accomplishments to have broken them of that travesty! Almost no one there knew how to use a semicolon as well.
