Safety is the baseline.
Not a privilege.
Not a debate.
It should never be rare.
It should not depend on who you are.

Happy Poetry Month 💙 🏳️⚧️ This poem is a small celebration for gender affirming medical care and moments of gender affirmation. This poem is being posted on April 11, 2026, marking two years since Josh (he/him), a transgender man, had top surgery. Congratulations!!! moreloveeky.org/2026/04/11/m...
Happy Poetry Month! This piece was written by an LGBTQIA2S+ MoreLove member who wants you to know: You are not fragile. You are not temporary. You are not something to be erased. You are fire… and you’re still here. 🔥 moreloveeky.org/2026/04/09/f...
TRANS RIGHTS ARE HUMAN RIGHTS.
This is why MoreLove, many other nonprofits, and Pride organizations exist... because of the strength, persistence, and resilience of people who continue showing up as themselves, even when it isn’t easy. 🏳️⚧️🏳️🌈
Extra steps. Extra questions. Extra barriers. Even after all these years, a deadname still appearing.
Josh (he/him) legally changed his name to align with his gender identity over 10 years ago.
But when he applied to go back to school, his deadname still appeared. He had to complete additional forms, explain his identity, and navigate systems that didn’t automatically recognize who he is.
For many people, enrolling in school is simple paperwork but for LGBTQIA2S+ folks, especially transgender people, it can be something else entirely.

Black history is not behind us. It is active, living, and shaping the work ahead. Honoring it means committing to justice, accountability, and collective care every day, not just this month. The future we’re building depends on it.
Trans people are spectacular.
Health care is a HUMAN RIGHT.
Trump and MAGA politicians allowed costs to soar, HIV research to be cut, and are trying to regulate who can access care — and who is forced to suffer.

MoreLove leaders are having a #StateoftheUnion watch and reflect session. We believe it’s important to stay informed, even (and especially) when we don’t always agree. This helps us better respond, advocate, and serve our community.

A mother possum carries five baby possums on her back as they cling to her fur. The background is a soft green forest blur. Text on the image reads: "Around here, we help carry our kin. It’s impossumible to do this alone!" Below, donation info is listed: PayPal @ekymutualaid and Venmo @eKyMutualAid. A small eKy Mutual Aid logo is in the corner.
If you’ve got a few bucks to spare, throw it toward EKY Mutual Aid please!
We’re not waiting on politicians or nonprofits with 3-month approval processes because we help each other NOW. Mutual aid means when someone needs heat, food, or meds, we show up without question.

We’re excited for the February MoreLove Chosen Family Hangout - Clothing Swap & Movie Watch. So we asked some MoreLove volunteers: WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE MOVIE ABOUT CLOTHES? 🎥👗👔 Here's what they said. Is your's on the list?
Photo of LaLa Zanell speaking and smiling at a podium. Beside her is a quotation: "We cannot advocate for Black lives if we are not advocating for Black trans lives." The quotation is attributed to LaLa Zanell, Activist, ACLU campaign manager. Red ACLU logo. "Black Futures Month".
LaLa Zanell is a dedicated force in the fight for trans liberation. Before working at the ACLU, she fought for police reform, advocated for LGBTQ New Yorkers who've experienced violence, and defended transgender rights before the White House and Congress.
