Not feeling very festive this year. The holiday themed earrings were just to keep up appearances.

Eight years ago today was, without a doubt, the worst day of my life.

My house flooded last night. The cause isn't clear to me. My water meter was replaced yesterday and something went wrong while running a faucet to bleed off air bubbles. Water broke through the ceiling and flooded the first floor. The dread I'm feeling is staggering.

Fuck.

Some of the quiet car occupants have stepped into my car and are having a bit of an issue.
“You’re not my mother.”
“It’s not illegal to laugh.”
“Mind your business.”
“Let’s try to be a bit kinder.”

Loud voiced man is sharing for all of us within earshot to hear that he’s on his way to NYC to lead an AI summit.

The way my heart races when I see a call from my mom is an awful level of worry.

In recent days, phone cases have found their way to my mind. Not sure how this started but when I recently upgraded my phone, I figured I'd try my phone au naturel. I've dropped that thing so many times in three short days! It is so slippery and slides off surfaces so easily. Back to a case I go!

Should I feel flattered he feels comfortable approaching me even though we've been over this numerous times? I don't. He's still trying to figure it out, which is admirable, while concealing his shortcomings from his shift. Not sure how to explain this in a way that will finally click for him.

Got a call from a co-worker tonight at 9:30 to help walk him through how to enter some very basic data into a system. He's worked there 3-4 years, I believe. (I've been there 18 months.) He's got 2 very strong operations guys on his shift who should know how to do this but he calls me instead.

No laboring is happening on this Labor Day!

Thank you. I wasn’t even sure I’d get a vacation but my mom has been doing better lately so I rushed to plan a getaway while I could.

I’m on vacation and have not gotten out of bed today. It’s 7:15 pm. I paid far too much for this cottage and this car to fuck it away.

When the backseat passenger seatbelt no longer has any flexibility and I’m locked in, that’s when my claustrophobia kicks in.

First strike of the rental car tires on the curb. Probably won’t be the last.

I said yes to the concert invitation and today is concert day. My friend’s text mentioned the concert was tomorrow’s date. I haven’t heard back anything from my friend and I’m secretly hoping I can bail on this show.
