When I read Watership Down in Middle School, I distinctly remember wondering how anyone could possibly want to harm those rabbits. 50 years later, as someone who takes pride in his garden, I get it. I’d NEVER kill a rabbit but I’m at the window every morning muttering “little f*ckers”!

I’ve gotten in the habit of changing my profile picture every time I start a new game. It’s not that I’m playing that game exclusively - but that it’s become my primary focus. Right now - Pragmata - and I’m really enjoying it. Highly recommend. #pragmata
So…I played the Clair Obscur Prologue and the first hour of Pragmata - both amazing games but Pragmata really got its’ hooks into me. It is one of the most endearing games I’ve played in a very long time. I am ALL IN on this one and can’t wait to see where it takes me. #pragmata
We’ve watched the first 3 episodes of “Margo’s Got Money Troubles” and I have to say…it’s been pretty engaging so far. It’s raw and there are a lot of cringy, painful moments but it’s very well written and acted by a very strong cast. I’d recommend you give it a try. #Margo’sGotMoneyTroubles
I’ve seen many posts on use of AI in game design over the last year - some balanced and some extreme. As someone who’s played video games for 40+ years, I think I’ve finally decided where I stand on the issue. I’m just going to play games that I truly enjoy - category notwithstanding.
Been playing Inquisitor Martyr for a couple of weeks now and having a good time with it but it’s almost time to move on - I’ve fully explored all it has to offer. Big decision ahead - Clair Obscur or Pragmata. Been wanting to try CE since launch but Pragmata looks pretty compelling.
Now on to Michael R. Fletcher’s “The Lord Of The Empty Mirror” - final book in his Obsidian Path series. Fletcher is another author that has consistently given me fresh, creative, original, wonderfully executed stories. If you haven’t tried his work - you owe it to yourself to do so.
I’ve been reading speculative fiction since my teens - about 50 years - and it’s become hard to find a novel idea - a story that isn’t somehow derivative. When I do, if it’s well-executed, I tend to fall in love with the tale. This one was easy to love. #noman’sland
Just finished “No Man’s Land” by Richard K. Morgan and enjoyed it thoroughly - a truly wonderful story. I’ve enjoyed Morgan’s work ever since reading “Altered Carbon” - another amazing book but this was different from anything else of his I’ve read. HIGHLY recommend. #noman’sland #richardkmorgan
I read Peter Wehner’s interview with David Bentley Hart in the NYT this morning & thought it was brilliant. Even for secularists, agnostics and atheists - I felt the article was quite profound in many ways. Highly recommend it to anyone who thinks deeply about their place in the world.
We have so much fun with our children now - they’re our best adult friends.
It’s been my experience that - at some point - if we’ve done a good job as parents - that our children come to understand and appreciate all we’ve done over the years - usually when they have to start paying their own bills AND when they see how their peers with college debt are struggling.
Try the new Superman - it was wonderful.
We’re watching S5 of For All Mankind and - while we’re enjoying it - I can’t help but feel that this show has never lived up to its’ full potential. We’ll keep watching since we’re so far in but I’ll never be over the top enthusiastic. 7/10.
That is such a fun movie - one of the all time B movie classics - right up there with Buckaroo Banzai.
The final episode of Shrinking S3 - NAILED the landing. Really enjoy that show and glad we’ll have one more season.
I do really believe in EVs and leased a Tesla about 8 years ago but did not renew when it came up 5 years ago. Even taking Elon out of the picture, there are better EV options available today. Leased an IONIQ5 6 months ago and couldn’t be happier - so much car at a pretty reasonable price!!
I gave up on Starfield long ago. It prompted me to go back and replay No Man’s Sky - which I wound up really enjoying. They did a great job updating and improving that game over time.
I have never felt better - balance, flexibility & core strength all began to improve over the course of 10 week (3 sessions a week). Perfect compliment to my running and resistance training. Highly recommend!!
PSA for men over 50 - if you aren’t doing Pilates, you’re making a huge mistake. Always been in good shape - running & lifting 5 times a week. All good until I got hit with a very bad case of sciatica. Finally gave in to my wife and tried Pilates - it was amazing.
I’ve been playing W40K Inquisitor Martyr / Prophecy & I’m not sure why this game didn’t get more engagement. I’m really loving it - great gameplay, best (most complex) itemization / crafting system I’ve ever seen in an ARPG, voice acting is very good, solid skill trees, strong endgame. 9/10!
You are one of the most consistently funny people on this platform. Thanks for the occasional smile, snicker and - from time to time - chuckle.
It really tickled me to see an extended post chain containing multiple references to The Atrocity Archives. Well done.
I think knowing who and / or what to ignore is an incredibly useful characteristic to cultivate these days.
Currently on a W40K kick - have both Rogue Trader and Inquisitor going - both really fun games. Also got me back to reading the books.
Had NO idea this was still available. I played it when it released and enjoyed it. Thought it had just disappeared. Have it give it another try. TY!
As you wish - I prefer the sound I get from vinyl.
So…as much as I was enjoying Rogue Trader, I did a quick search for other W40K games and stumbled upon Inquisitor. I don’t know how this was received when it launched or whether it was a commercial success but I am REALLY enjoying it - story, voice acting & game play. I think I’ll be here for awhile
I want everyone to experience their music however they want - these days I choose vinyl because it gives me ownership / control and I think it sounds better. I’m not scolding the poster. If anything, I’m scolding the companies that so ruthlessly monetized our desire to enjoy music.
I am every bit as guilty as anyone when it comes to convenience - I moved from vinyl to tape to CD to streaming. I spent so much $ at iTunes Store and thought it was a great way to access art - only to find out that I’d purchased nothing and that it could all be taken away.
