Advocating for people to receive the best end of life care, and seeing come to fruition is one of the most satisfying elements of my role as Soul midwife and advocate. I am so blessed to be able to do this x

I realise I can be irritating, but when it's a matter of people not receiving high-quality compassionate care, I make no apologies. I realise nursing in today's turbulent health service is difficult, & I stand with you to change this, but always be kind,a smile can change the world for our patients.

My only concern is that, this won't affect the really rich. But those families that scrimp together the fees by going without, will no longer be able to afford.

This week, I have experienced life as a worried mum. My adult daughter had a query Gastric bleed needing transfusion and investigation. GP tried to fast track, but no, waited waited and waited until she collapsed. I witnessed so called corridor care, which is not care. We cannot accept this

In the 30-plus years of working in palliative care, my observation is that some have good deaths, some dont. I feel we need to be honest on both sides of the debate, the truth as it is. We need to work together to improve end of life care for all whatever people's choices are.

For assisted dying to work, GPs need to know their patients Ending a life must be a choice made between alternatives; not one taken because of a failure to provide proper healthcare.

Missed this at the time - such a thoughtful, measured & predictably wise piece from @pwhitakerwriter.bsky.social on assisted dying. www.newstatesman.com/politics/hea...

Well, today may start the change in the law regarding assisted dying. Whatever your view, I respect that. Let's stand together as people who care about those approaching their eol. We put patients first's, that is what binds us. #nursestogether

It has to go through parliament to make it difficult to change. It would be a really hard process to amend.
