Furthermore: no, cycling trips in / through Putney have not been adversely impacted by “heavier traffic” (there is less traffic now than before) resulting from Hammersmith Bridge being closed to cars.
There is more cycling in/through Putney now than ever before
You’re lucky if you can manage to rip a bit off before you pass put from the fumes from those places.
I know the sort.
Oh god - is it one of those that results in you ripping off lots of little bits because it won’t turn without resistance?
Graphic titled “Careless Laws Cost Rights” has Ghostbusters-style drawings of people using mobility aids coming through a “prohibited” sign. From top left clockwise, a child using a manual wheelchair with power attachment, a person using a powerchair with a pram attached, a child using a powerchair, a person using a manual wheelchair with e-assist handcycle attachment, two people using a tandem mobility scooter. At the bottom, “new mobility aid laws must provide equal mobility rights for all, hashtag MobilityJustice and the Wheels for Wellbeing logo.
The consultation into the law for powered mobility aids closes tonight, so if you haven't responded yet, you still have time!

To get a sense of mendacity here:
1. 2020 Covid era DfT count data is an estimate (no manual count was done at HB)
2. 2023 figure is from a manual count
3. *London wide* traffic increased by 16% between 2020 & 2023 - so the estimate for Putney Bridge is simply in line with the city-wide trend 🤷♂️
It sounds right to me, and also if you’re saying The Green Party/The Conservative Party etc you’re definitely talking about an entity. If you say Greens/Conservatives etc it sounds like you’re talking about the members within (even though the intention is probably just to shorten the party name).
"The willingness to travel long distances by train has increased dramatically...The Berlin-Paris ICE is a great success, 80%+ occupancy. We thought 50% of passengers would travel the full 8h, but 75% do. Talking to SNCF about a 2nd Berlin-Paris train in 2028."

Is the Home Secretary's hypothesis that Yvette Cooper wouldn't be criticised if tabled the same asylum/settlement reforms?!
The personal characteristics of Nigel Farage/Zia Yusuf, Chris Philp/Kemi Badenoch, Shabana Mahmood/Starmer seem v marginal to who supports/opposes their immigration plans!
This image shows a person sitting on a bench seat inside a train or subway car, holding a large, fluffy dog on their lap. The dog has a thick, light gray to tan coat with a darker face, and its tongue is hanging out as it appears happily panting. The person is wearing a red jacket and blue jeans. The dog's leash is visible, and the person's hand is gently holding it. The window by their side lets in natural light, and blurred passengers can be seen seated further along the train.
Has science gone too far?

I often think as a society we’re conditioned to care more about (and spend money on) what we have inside our homes and what we drive, than our communal spaces and funding that properly.
Even I’ve noticed things like root damage to cycle paths being regularly repaired or marked for repairs. It’s amazing, and yet it shouldn’t be regarded as abnormal to care for the public realm.
Graphic titled Disabled people need mobility equality has pictures of different Disabled people using wheeled mobility aids, some of which are presently legal to use in some ways, and some of which are not presently legal in public spaces. The pictures are surrounding the words “Rights to pedestrian mobility” and “Rights to cycling and cycling-equivalent mobility”. From left and top to bottom in columns, a child using a powerchair, an adult using a powerchair with a pram attached, an adult using a mobility scooter towing two children in a cycle-type trailer, an adult using a manual wheelchair and long cane, an adult on a mobility scooter assisting a small child who is walking, an adult on a recumbent trike, an adult using a manual wheelchair with an e-assist handcycle attachment, an older child on a bicycle, an adult and child using a side-by-side tandem. At the bottom is hashtag MobilityJustice and the Wheels for Wellbeing logo.
You only have until the end of tomorrow to respond to the government's consultation into powered mobility aids.

I once worked with the great niece (i think that was the relationship) of Stan Laurel at a Human Resources consultancy near Manchester. He was from Ulverston which at the time was in the county of Lancashire (now in the county Cumbria).
Anyway, that’s as interesting as it got.
Here's a govt petition to reduce the default limit on rural single carriageway roads from 60 down to 30. Seems a sensible suggestion to me. Obviously individual limits could be higher. They would just need to be signed.

Yup. Bullying has always gone on after school hours, and even more so with the advent of the smart phone and social media. I guess this just means DfE has moved the problem on from its own remit.
Yes, I’ve seen the videos. Lots of drivers blaming the protesting residents saying they’re the ones parking on the other side causing obstructions, but it mostly seems to be driver behaviour not wanting to cede priority to coaches.
Good morning to almost everyone
I thought they were making some changes there?

I never want cartridge hub bearings to fully take over on my fleet because I find the process of cleaning and greasing loose ball hubs so relaxing. Icing on the cake is setting the cones perfectly.
Very excited about the Tour de France Femmes having stages in the UK in 2027!
Extra excited to see the race on the roads I cycle on ❤️ Glorious Peak District climbs and the town we call home.
Such an amazing sport: the spectacle comes to your home!

OMFG I had to go and check that this ACTUALLY happened.
Since when does the BBC ever do chyrons with a political party's branding, rather than their own? Not to mention this is during a pre-election campaign purdah.

It's easy to succumb to outrage fatigue. But this was four days ago. 2,000 killed. 1.2 million displaced. Entire villages demolished. A 40km 'buffer zone' (10% of Lebanon's territory) annexed. It's barely raised a resigned shrug, but it meets the criteria for war crime. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
The driver has been charged with attempted murder.
Not sure why it's so hard for the BBC to say that. You can bet your arse that if it was a person on a bike they'd be saying cyclist.
