One thing about me is I am going to get sunscreen in my eye
a stone structure built into a hillside at different levels, in dappled light. a skewed gate hangs in front of a square, cavernous opening leading into the hill itself.

didn't know @tombreihan.bsky.social was working on this -- an intense read for me that brings up many memories, both of the time the album came out, the times that led to its writing, and the time since.
A screenshot of The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered, of the player holding up a fine steel longsword while looking at a summoned ghost. The ghost is the upper body of a gaunt man in spectral green wispy light, viewed on a lush green hill, next to some rocks. In the distance is a wide bay with green hills on either side of the water, many trees in the distance, a ruined fort, and a bridge across the water. The White Gold tower is just barely visible. This is a recreation of the same joke I previously made in the original Oblivion.
Grandpa didn't get his beans today.

DEATH COMES TO ME AGAIN, A GIRL Death comes to me again, a girl in a cotton slip. Barefoot, giggling. It’s not so terrible, she tells me, not like you think: all darkness and silence. There are wind chimes and the scent of lemons. Some days it rains. But more often the air is dry and sweet. We sit beneath the staircase built from hair and bone and listen to the voices of the living. I like it, she says, shaking the dust from her hair. Especially when they fight, and when they sing.
Some days it rains.
