How *exactly* did we get to a cultural place in which huge numbers of people became convinced that “only wanting to hang out with people you like” was deviant, shameful behavior?
(The answer is mostly ‘social media techbro CEOs with way too much cultural influence’).

I wonder why it's causing so much anxiety.
You don't *have* to talk to everybody, and you don't *have* to be heard by everybody. People have the right to choose, and that's as it should be.
The ability to block is a good thing.
