mods are in a grey zone where its really easy to mod your game but its mostly like they just don't want you to talk in official channels in the in game chat about it/submit modded stuff to contests

yea this is true, I think ffxiv genuinely has kind of sparse character customization as there's even gender locked gear appearances. I play both a girl and a boy and it feels at times incredibly frustrating? idk its bad same with gender locked heights the difference between my characters is insane
