Are we going to add 24/7 bus lanes to Bank street?
Are we going to build the Baseline BRT that was approved 10 years ago?
Are we going to stop building car dependent sprawl?
If we're serious about reducing emissions, we need to start doing all of this and more today, not 10 years from now.

BLUESKY IS A WEBSITE THAT TURNS (post by jay.bsky.team claiming that bluesky is made with AI) INTO (picture of bluesky not working)
Ah, Metrolinx, much expertise and experience in building LRTs *cough* Eglington *cough* Finch West *cough* Hurontario *cough*
I almost thought this was porn that it wouldn't let me load lol
Apparently $2.9 million

I would also like to see the city gradually relocate direct vehicle access to businesses off of Robertson and onto side streets. The stroad model has proven to be unsafe and a poor experience for all road users.
UwU
Me too, I'll stop doing it tomorrow
The 2026 budget was written by Eric Adams, the city budget for any given year is set in stone the year prior.
Bet he's getting bribes from oil companies who want to sell for more?
Been using linux for 3 years now (arch btw), and every time I tried windows 11 afterwards confirmed to me that I made the right choice.
And when I do have an issue on linux, I don't have to fight the OS when I try to fix it. The freedom is amazing.
Intrusive thoughts amirite?
Think I've seen people unironically say that for transit in general lol
States' rights to do what?
They don't seem to get to that part
Saving up to $2k/year on property taxes doesn't mean much when you're forced to spend $10k/year on a car because transit is so bad and bike paths aren't plowed, plus the added cost of maintaining that car due pothole-ridden roads the city can't afford to resurface
People were probably allowed multiple responses in the survey, so it's still 36 out of 100 people who like driving through the park, but many of those also might like walking or cycling.
Beechwood could be a candidate for a tram line in the future. Seeing how Hamilton is currently having to relocate utilities before they can even start on their LRT, if we're relocating utilities now we should do it in a way that street rail could easily be retrofitted sometime in the future.
Let's thank the folks at strongtownsottawa.ca for organizing such a large group of delegates to combat the carbrained business owners!
Bewhiskered FOMO is my guees
Has there been some drama going on I'm not aware of that caused you to post this? Just curious
Awesome to see this vital connection open! Kinda sad it's going slower than the cars though :(
Wait you're at TFF?
Trams are a lot smoother to ride, more accessible (level boarding), are easier to integrate in an urban environment, and are generally cheaper in the long run for medium capacity routes.
We have to decide whether BRT or LRT makes more sense for any given corridor.
valid crashout
I don't have a preference for either, Both should be used wherever they make sense (subways/metros for longer trips and high capacity, LRT/trams for local trips and last mile connections)
Tbf if you're a youtuber and your channel gets a bullshit strike/termination, the only way to get to youtube is through the nazi site unfortunately :(
I think there's justification to build a tram line on Beechwood at some point in the future. If we're relocating utilities now, I think it's good to do it in a way where they won't need to be relocated if we do decide to build a tram (as Hamilton is currently doing)
I'd also like to see more stop consolidation. The increased average speeds from having to stop less often will more than make up for the slightly longer walk to and from stops
