Yeah this is kind of where I'm at right now - I've been learning/fake-learning Rust because Swift is getting _good_ at non-Darwin but then does some very strange thing that makes it a non-starter on Linux (I'm still mad I can't use QT C++ without a C shim don't tell the news I'm mad)
