Rewatching TOMBSTONE. I often wonder what makes this film “the one western I like” to so many people that don’t like westerns. It’s not subversive. It lovingly embraces the tropes. It’s not overly “artistic.” It’s a straightforward western.

But it has one thing others do not:

Gene Hackman was the kind of actor that could take any kind of role & elevate it in the most unassuming way; it doesn't matter if he was playing a basketball coach, an obsessed investigator, or a scenery-chewing villain. His work always felt effortless, but the results showed you the opposite. RIP.

This is what I've seen so far in #February. Very #Oscar focused, so even though I might catch something else in the next few days, I need to put this episode out before Sunday, so share your thoughts on any of these. #FilmSky

In the grand scheme of things, it's something really small, but I don't mind having a pick-me-up like this. Our latest episode had our best Opening DAY in 5+ years, and one of our best Opening Weeks so far. So thanks to all of you who support this show! #FilmSky
