Ah, but you've never seen Feldman's Famous non-graded problem sets for International Trade. I post the answers in a separate file.

They're difficult, and require insight, so no shame in reverse engineering.

The problem sets come with a warning. Ignore them at your peril! ๐Ÿ˜ˆ

My new cocktail concoction that I'm calling "The Conclusion."

You may have enjoyed The Last Word, or its mezcal cousin The Closing Argument.

Now meet my new take ... "The Conclusion!" โ„ข

3/4 oz sotol (I use Rayo Seco Travesia)
3/4 oz fresh lemon juice
3/4 oz green Chartreuse
3/4 oz Maraschino Liqueur
dashes of orange bitters

An amazing herbaceous drink.

2/ Their true MAGA base is often capped at 30% to 35% of the electorate. This is why the midterms are likely to lead to an electoral tsunami of gargantuan proportions, and why Democrats think that even the Senate may be within reach this year.

Not quite. They've trained most of their BASE to behave this way, but they have always needed to expand beyond the base to win nationally, and in districts that aren't gerrymandered ruby red. The more intense the corruption and criminality the less likely they are to succeed beyond the base.

Scenes of New Mexico: Part 3.

Claret Cup cactus in full bloom. They love to grow at the base of a juniper, and this one is at high altitude (7,300 feet). It's actually on my property in Santa Fe.

2/ of the contamination the Trump administration has caused. We will be freed to eliminate whole agencies (ICE) and dismiss thousands of entrenched employees whose hiring was designed to poison the agency and harm the nation.

THEN we can talk to our GOP "friends" about restoring old norms.

On the other hand, we may be able to reconstruct it totally anew in 2029, freed from Congressional constraints and restraints now that civil service protections are a thing of the past. Yes, those protections need to be restored, but only after the next president cleanly sweeps away all vestiges

2/ Yes, it's difficult to get into the mind of someone who could do this. But once we get beyond the individual sickness the reasons for why this is happening over and over ... and over again are not hard to find.

Sadness, and intense anger. We are a nation awash in guns and struggling with a rising mental health epidemic. We are powerless because of institutional, structural, and political forces (driven by an intense minority) opposed to all change.

Best quote of the day:

"Ppl need to be terrified of the white-collar criminal laws of the United States again."

This needs to be the mantra of every Democrat running for federal office in 2026 and 2028.

The DOJ needs to be re-professionalized and let loose on fraud, graft, and insider trading.

People like Ossoff need to state clearly that a re-professionalized DOJ (in 2029) will open tons of investigations of Trump family corruption, and of his lackeys in high positions. He needs to state clearly that this is the only way to DE-politicize our government in the wake of GOP corruption.

A re-professionalized DOJ (in 2029) is going to need to hire 100s of new investigators to explore all the financial corruption in this administration, and from those in Trump's personal orbit. Republicans will howl about politicized justice, but this is the only way to restore public trust.

I think we all know the answer to that. But it'll take a Democratic DOJ to generate indictments and prosecutions.

To people who say that we shouldn't "politicize justice the way the GOP has," I counter that the DOJ is indeed called upon to investigate federal crimes, even if the perps are GOP.

Once the GOP is cleared out, the investigations will begin. The new DOJ will become professional again, though our GOP friends will howl about politicization.

When constructing his wonderful little book, "On Bullshit," I don't think Harry Frankfurt ever conceived that someone who was bullshitting actually would believe his own bullshit so deeply that he could not actually tell the difference between bullshitting and lying.
