That's incorrect. They occupy the second-highest rung. Men of colour rank below.

You have the first two in the wrong order.
The frequency of vaccination would also make a difference.
And you know that some of these calls to forgive and forget will come from fake liberals. Seeking justice is something genuine progressives do not (and must not) shy away from.
That's a good wine.
I don't consider Muricans as part of the free world or even the West anymore.
Still doesn't guarantee they aren't bigoted.
I received this comment the other day (we're both Canadian). There's racism up here too, just a bit less overt than in the US.
It's a lot more nuanced than that. Check out these two stats. Also keep in mind that many of the Latinos voting for him were defacto white. It's a broad term.
Reminds me of the Winnie the Pooh meme.
Inbred pieces of dung.
In the US, the Dem base is Black Americans (men & women). I'd rather they "take over" for a while. A good long while.
Privilege is a complicated and intersectional thing. White women as a group still wield more power than BIPOC men. Often individually too. The stuff that women experience from white men: being talked over at meetings, belittled, disrespected etc. has been done to me by WW. It's complicated.
I've mentioned this before, but I get racist abuse on FB equally from white men & women. The Bluesky mindset that it's just white men on one side with everyone else fighting back is not even remotely accurate. I wish it were, because then this war on fascism would've been won before it even began.
True for other Western countries as well. You have Reform in the UK, AfD in Germany, Pauline Hanson in Australia, and our own PPC & CPC employing similar rhetoric. These countries may differ on which non-white demographic they like to vilify the most, but the overall approach is the same.
I have noticed that this demographic frequently punches down on BIPOC people βboth men and womenβto release their frustrations with white men. The frustration is valid, but how they deal with it is not acceptable. They need to punch up.
I'm just glad that Europeans and Brits are getting the wake-up call they've sorely needed. I always observed how they related more to white North Americans than any other North Americans and certainly anyone from the Global South. Even my friends did that. It never had any basis in logic.
White supremacist dog-whistling. Western Europe & the US have been diverging culturally for a while but that has accelerated dramatically since MAGA took power. They've created a theocracy. The fact that it's a Christian theocracy is immaterial. Theocracy and Western civilization don't mix.
Yes, there's a lot of racism in nursing in both our countries. In Canada, Indigenous patients are frequently the victims of racism.
I got this comment from a Canadian ICU nurse in a political thread (context is I'm also Canadian; my parents are from India).
Yes, especially if there is a difference in race privilege (WW and man of colour). I don't even necessarily mean romantically.
In other words, they're racist.
Rude.
There was segregation on the beaches in Normandy. Black and other non-white service men were not allowed to enter the beaches by day. They had to do it under the cover of darkness so as not to offend the white Service men.
π₯Exactlyπ₯. My identity is not yours to define.
For those who missed my previous post, this is a comment I received from a liberal in an FB group. The context was the Iran war & lack of empathy for civilians there. Out came her racism based on my name & *perceived* identity. ICU nurse in Toronto.
Yes. Possibly worse.
Some distrust of the US and a *modest* degree of detachment, not full "anti".
I have lots of Brit acquaintances and I see them as excessively emotionally invested in the US and Americans (even pre-MAGA and its threat to Europe). I've never been able to relate to that mindset.
The latrine is part of the big tent.
Extremists drag their new party to their position, not the other way around.
And I don't think people as bigoted as her can be reformed.
I see you unfollowed me over this response (how passive-aggressive!), and I've reciprocated.
Cheers.
White nationalist misogynist antivaxxer bigots always remain white nationalist misogynist antivaxxer bigots. It was a strategic error for Carney to accept her into the fold. Some of the previous ones, OK, but this was a step too far.
