The young kids in the screening LOVED IT. Which was quite endearing, but they deserve better than this!
A big screen adaptation of Super Mario Galaxy should’ve been the easiest slam dunk, yet it’s somehow worse than the first movie.
I've been quiet about my legal case as I take it very seriously and wish to keep it as separate from my everyday life as possible, but I wanted to give you all an update that provides some context for my commentary. 🧵 (1/10)

Came across a PhD post in NL (well paid! benefits! cool research to do!) on queer gaming communities/identity formation, which I feel might be relevant for at least half my feed

One thing about the Oscars I am upset about is that Matt Berry didn’t do the entire commentary as Steven Toast.

40 years of The Legend of Zelda! A hugely important part of my life.
Words can’t describe how much the series means to me… but maybe an old article from my early journo days explains a little.
Dug into this absolutely wild thing happening to Finji. The deeper I read into their increasingly baffling conversations with TikTok "support" the more I felt like I was on something.

You don’t need experience with other outlets; even blog posts that demonstrate film journalism experience is absolutely fine.
I’m especially keen to hear from writers who can cover anime and TV releases. Flexibility in covering in-person interview and events is a plus.
In general, we want writers who’ll work outside their comfort zones and cover all projects, big and small, on a semi-regular basis.
Perfect for writers looking to boost their portfolio through reviews/news/interviews/features.
It is voluntary, but there will be screening and interview opportunities for those that actively contribute.
Over at @filmhounds.co.uk, we’re on the hunt for new writers to join the team!
Please read the full thread carefully to apply 🧵:
okay since it apparently needs to be said:
please don’t be weird if you want to connect with women at GDC or other conferences. do not stalk them or disrespect their boundaries. i understand it’s really tough out there, but overstepping will never get you places; it will, in fact, do the opposite
Last night we were at the BFI Flare Programme Launch and there are a lot of great films lined up for this year’s festival.
Be sure to check out the festival taking place 18th-29th March.
Sometimes I just want a life where I play video games and watch films. Other times, I want to hide in the woods and live off the land.
Still can’t believe I spoke with Hollywood royalty. I interviewed Roger Deakins and James Ellis Deakins for the launch of Roger’s memoir, ‘Reflections: On Cinematography’.

NEW REVIEW — New theatrical release weekend! A choice option for an irreverent time is #GoodLuckHaveFunDontDie, which is more inclusive than it needed to be. @supergavigator.bsky.social takes us through it: www.mediaversityreviews.com/film-reviews...
Gonna be a brave boy and say we absolutely do not need a God of War Trilogy remake.
