Im so envious!

It occurred to me I didn't post that I got a new job recently. Im working on the north slope oil fields on a 3 week rotation. Liking it a helluva lot better than my last job and im back to medicine that I enjoy.

It warmed up to -2 today. 😁

Negative 5 and I'm still eating ice cream. Like a real Alaskan.

Everyone: "you're so hard to shop for!"
Me: "I literally have a wishlist with 99 books on it."

Birthday is about to come to an end. Spent most of it with the fam but spent the best part just the little man and I.

Plot twist: we're instead going to a place I strongly dislike, but step-dad likes.

This isn't a bid for sympathy, for what it's worth. I guess I want comrade? I assume that there are others who also have horrible relationships with their parents but good relationships with their siblings? But I guess that's pretty niche.

And because we can, things my mother has done for herself on *my birthday*

1. A going away party for herself.
2. An Easter party even though our religion has it on a different day.
3. A girls night, with everything I dislike but she enjoys.

I haven't done anything special for my birthday since my 21st. Every year I just plan a solo fun day and then a nice dinner with the Little Man. I dont even expect gifts at this point to be completely honest.

Sister is in town & asked me what I wanted to do for my bday lunch.

Mom says "Oh, I bet she wants to go to either [place she likes] or [place we go to because step-dad doesn't like]."

Me, who hasn't done anything for my birthday since my 21st, "Oh, I was just gonna go to [my favorite taco place]."

All I want for my birthday this year is a pepperoni pizza, a 2L bottle of coke, and 7 friends for some Halo 3 multiplayer.

Those of you who have been around for awhile know im raising Little Man to be a little feminist.

Earlier this evening when we were driving home from his TKD class. He asked if he could record a video of us singing along to a song to send to his group chat. I said sure, didn't think anything of it.

Honestly, im kinda hoping he puts it off long enough that he cant raise it until April. Give me more time to find a suitable alternative.

Rent is due Sunday. Still dont have the way new Landlord wants to be paid. Still have no new rental agreement. Talked to him Monday, he said he's working on it. Also said he's going to raise rent but didn't say to how much.
