I’m still amazed when I give advice to students and they take it. Y’all, someone read Proust just because I told them to!

Dreamt that no one could remember the title of my book and the cover was an image of a pile of laundry floating in the sky.

Reflecting on this from Cezanne today: “There is logic of colors, and it is with this alone, and not with the logic of the brain, that the painter should conform.”

I’m trying to let go of the logic of the brain for my next book.

I love keeping in touch with former mentors. The best ones build a lifelong relationship.

I’m excited to read these debut novels this year.
