Book recommendation for 102 by Matthew Cordell
When I read that author and illustrator Matthew Cordell was inspired by a “cheery, multicolored, multiscented ballpoint pen” to create the art for this book, I had to read 102, own a copy for myself. vickipalmquist.substack.com/p/102

Added my name to 2 letters to thank the elected representatives who voted NO to giving Israel even more of our tax dollars for bombs and weapons. Praying that ceasefires last and that we can someday restore some semblance of decency to the WhiteHouse. #StopViolence #StopWar #PeaceInTheMiddleEast
The Second Life of Snap
Look for two-time Newbery Medalist @erinentrada.bsky.social's The Second Life of Snap on May 12, 2026! mrschureads.blogspot.com/2026/04/new-...
My daughter asked:
1. How did we suddenly find money for war - enough $ to end child poverty and hunger around the world?
2. Why are our elected representatives doing nothing about #genocide in Gaza, #warcrimes in Venezuela & threats to murder even more #innocent Iranians?
Inaction = Support
Wonderful honor and well deserved
I'm the daughter of an Army paratrooper who refused orders during our illegal invasion of Vietnam back in the day. He went to LBJ military jail.
Dad taught his girls this: "Just following orders" is NEVER any excuse for anyone who's complicit in war crimes. You MUST refuse heinous orders.
The President of the United States is threatening to commit war crimes and wipe out a "whole civilization" — all because he started a disastrous war of his own making and had no plan and no strategy for how to end it.
This is abhorrent, and the American people do not support this.
In all seriousness, one thing that might be worth doing today:
Tell your Reps and Senators to call Adm. Richard Correll, the Commander of U.S. Strategic Command, which controls the nation's nukes, and remind him of *his* unique responsibility to refuse an illegal order.
The President is openly threatening genocide. A crime against humanity. He must be removed from office.
The 25th Amendment must be invoked. If not, Congress has to do our damn job. Speaker Johnson, call us into session. War powers & impeachment. Remove this man from office.
Well. Heartbreaking already #IStandWithLuanneJames
Lol
My heart is full today, after feeling broken for a while. I’m sure it will break again, unfortunately, but today it feels whole. Thank you #librarians #teachers students staff at #OakestownElementary #GrandvilleMiddle @theauthorvillage.bsky.social for making sure I will have a wonderful weekend

When you are hungry and stuck in an airport because of delays on your way to a wonderful school visit and you open your bag of snacks and you think of @annbraden.bsky.social #TheBenefitsOfBeingAnOctopus and that makes you think of the benefits of being in the @nancyrosep.bsky.social family!
Thank you to @librarianjones.com @becalzada.bsky.social and all the librarians on and off screen for the work you do. The world needs you.
