LLMs are exceptionally bad at lying too, and I think some people know that but accept what they're told anyway. Something in the human brain wires us to prefer a confident answer over a fuzzy truth. Resisting that urge takes effort.

The Word 'Spooktacular' Used To Mean Something In This Country Halloween is supposed to be a special time—a treasured holiday when children of all ages gather to celebrate everything dark and macabre and to experience the frights of their lives. But unfortunately...

Since you brought up “Common Sense”:
“a long habit of not thinking a thing wrong, gives it a superficial appearance of being right, and raises at first a formidable outcry in defence of custom.” —Paine

Abolish ICE is the only commonsense position.

The extent to which literal brain damage directs the course of human events is astounding, and I wonder if this is a new phenomenon or if it’s simply the way it has always been.

I wish they would remake the original Pokemon games like they did Link’s Awakening. Big screen, cute cartoon graphics, and the minimalism of the Gameboy.

I highly recommend “sound on” for this new angle

This sounds to me like they spent 300K to essentially hire a 7th grader.

I've seen a dozen of these today and every single one uses "his rockets blow up all the time" as a brag.

I don’t know what the 21st century equivalent of tarring and feathering would be, but it’s the inevitable next phase of this.

One quick way to realize LLMs are just bullshit machines is to reply to an answer with "are you sure?" The program will often immediately reverse its info, analysis, advice, whatever. Lots of men just like having a little yesman around, and that's basically what AI is.

This is the same fantasy people chased all the way through 2 impeachments after the 2016 election. There is not some vast group of reluctant, regretful trump voters. If we rematched 2016, 2020, or 2024 tomorrow, they'd vote for him all the same.

The entire show is about planning parties.

It is amazing to me that Dems are pressured to water down their messaging in order to avoid alienating 'centrists,' but Republicans can round up and deport sobbing children without fear of alienating 'centrists.' Says a lot about what we mean when we say 'centrists'

More recent, but people still use the DMV as a stand in for government inefficiency. My experience of DMVs in multiple states over the past 15 years have been the exact opposite: so quick and easy!

It's going to be something like Kazakhstan or Argentina. Literally a big country.

Americans really do grossly underestimate what a difference “walking everywhere” makes when they travel

like yeah the walking is the reason you lost weight while eating bread in Italy, it’s not because Italian bread is imbued with magical nonna sprinkles that give it fewer calories

The summary and the headline say opposite things.

Closing gitmo was one of his BIGGEST campaign promises. From primary to general.

People love to complain about Dems not fighting, but they somehow exclude Obama from that category when he was one of its progenitors once he got into office.

Can someone explain to me how the president even has the power to unilaterally modify the terms of international trade?

There needs to be a general strike, or something that shows the scale of the opposition. Do it on Tax Day.
