Laser burts lol

I love that so much. I once wrote “artillery barge” instead of “artillery barrage” and it made me think of some dinky little raft with cannons duct taped to it

Worker’s rights, sick days, alcohol-induced antics. The dwarves’ problems aren’t problems by their culture’s standards, but does that mean they shouldn’t be fixed? I say, even if they are ‘fine’, they should be fixed.

Just one of many thoughts about this big fancy world I’m building.

Inspirations and Where to Start — www.iangarris.com So, I’ve always loved reading. This probably isn’t a surprise. But I’ve recently been enjoying some of the books I read as a child (and the books I’d say got me into the idea of being a writer/author ...

Nothing fancy this month, just gushing about some of the books that got me into writing in the first place.

Re-wrote an argument today to make the scene flow better and put more of the onus on Fiona and her faults. Also realized I like making even brief visits to the hell-world creepy as can be. Yay, I think?

I feel called out by this.

Hey, good job!

Entering to Myrreko requires being funneled through its southern end, toward its center, which allows for the rift opened by Marianne to sit (at first glance) at the city’s heart. The rift itself is centered further north, in the zone, but Myrreko is built to essentially “frame” the rift as absolute

Rizen architecture involves a lot of sharp, brutalistic, storm-grey buildings, contrasted by splashes of vivid color (stained glass, flowers, mural art, so on) that denote areas of worship or importance. The city is named after the Rizen’s newborn goddess, Marianne.

both as a metaphorical wall of devotion and as a quite-literal barrier to the zone itself. The Rizen, the group who controls this country, keep the zone closed to everyone (even their own) and are slowly expanding their own territory while hunting the remnants of the last regime’s people down.

Myrreko is one of humanity’s current capital cities, ruled by an evangelical religious group who rose to prominence after the country’s previous rulers wiped themselves and their enemies out in a nuclear, goddess-awakening war. It sits right at the southern edge of the goddess’ kill zone and acts

There are a few. The biggest one is Marianne, the newly-invoked goddess. She is (even if unwillingly) the driving force behind most of the series.
Mother Lucina is another big one, ruler of the religion following Marianne, and she is more tangibly dangerous than Marianne due to her reach.

Cheryl would probably want to learn more about the Great War (in-world WW1/2 equivalent)
Marie would probably just want to learn basic survival/day-to-day stuff
Fiona would absolutely be demanding she take as many classes as possible about the world beyond humanity’s reach (and overworking herself)

Great job!

Christy, for sure. She’s the lighthouse for one of the protagonists, keeps her grounded and guided. She tries her best to stay cheerful (for both her and Cheryl’s sakes). Cheryl feels grateful for her, but guilty too, since Christy always seems to be working overtime to get her out of the dumps.

I feel that in my b o n e s
I had to go through axing the old version of my story a while back (in hindsight, it was the best choice I ever made) and I STILL have a hard time with some of the stuff I had to drop.

That’d be sick. I’ll let you know when it’s ready then. Might be a little while still.

I have a habit of making this mistake (part of what takes me so long to write). I think you (as in, nebulously, not YOU you) eventually need to narrow down to spelling and grammar, maybe a little continuity, before going ahead and sending it out there.

1 week ago 1 0 1 0

Not yet. I’m cutting and redoing the stuff that feels too bloated on my end before I send it to anyone else. It still feels just a little off the mark.

General stuff like continuity, pacing, things like that. Cutting the fluff that doesn’t fit and trimming down stuff that’s a little too bloated.

Making some decent #editing progress the last few days. Made it through about 4 chapters, doing tunes ups and fixes and smoothing out stǔff. Coming together one day at a time :]

Cut a few unneeded plot lines and some character fluff that wasn’t going anywhere too.

Re-reading the Percy Jackson books has been way too fun. Gonna be posting some reviews for them when I’m done with all five. Just started Battle of the Labrynth now. These books were my inspiration as a kid.

Plot twist, EVERYONE is someone else. Twistier twist, someone else is everyone. Twistiest twist, everyone is everywhere.

Spooky super horror story. I’ll take my payments in advance, thanks. Preferably in vague, chocolate-shaped foods. (I promise this isn’t ACTUALLY my book)
