I think you really have to squint to see the Harris campaign as significantly to the left (or right) of Biden - most of her policy stances in her campaign were similar to Biden's. She ran on the message that Biden/Harris was successful and she'd continue the success.
"Experience has proven that people are terrible at identifying the traitors. So rather than trying to figure out who's a traitor, we'll determine who to throw out by drawing a name at random from a bag" would be a much more logical procedure. But of course, that wouldn't make great TV.
Most of those 36% who didn't vote, if they had voted, would have voted for Trump. So I doubt they feel that bad.

But the 2024 election resulted in both a higher voter turnout than 2016 and 10 million more dem votes than in 2016. Like...if the 2020 election didn't exist, the 2024 election would have been the one where the democrats got the most votes in history, with the highest voter turnout in history.
