The cover to Luana Saitta's debut novella Merynthia's Master

O traveller, what wonders doth Merynthia, gateway to the dreaming west, hold? What blood magic is wielded in its dark alleys and vaulted sewers?

Fans of sword and sorcery, step right up! My first novella in ebook form is available right here!

Not gonna lie, my first thought was the Conan books were somehow tied to 1920s bootleggers.

Two hardcover copies of Double-Edged Sword & Sorcery in hardcover, each displaying one of the two distinct novella covers. A big SOLD OUT graphic is sitting over top.

...you're getting your copy or copies.

But being the wee outfit that we are, it's safe to assume for now that reprints are not happening. FWIW we're upping the print run on issues 8-10 in softcover, and ideally Brackenbury Books will continue to grow so that one day 2nd editions can be a thing.

Cover of issue one of New Edge Sword & Sorcery in softcover, with a big SOLD OUT bar across the middle.

🔍After some very careful combing of our storage to be sure, it is confirmed that we have sold out of a softcover issue for the first time, along with the hardcover edition of Double-Edged Sword & Sorcery.📖

If you've pledged for either of these in either of the last two crowdfunds don't worry...

HALF of a black and white illustration by @thecodexnoirmatic.bsky.social, depicting a hulking brute of a woman in full Sword & Sorcery warlord costume. Hair and cape blown back by the wind, she stands upon the prow of a terrifyingly carved warship akin to Washington crossing the Delaware. Two suns loom large in the sky.

Arcane Arts and Cold Steel Society was an old beast in a new skin.

So I was thinking about my place in S&S last night and my desire to leave a mark on its history. Apparently I've made one already, because "How Many Deaths" gets shouted out in this book by David C. Smith, a veteran author. I haven't read it yet, though I intend to one day. It's well appreciated!

I read a short story every day! Here's what I've read the past two months. It's been great to balance some single author collections with a really expansive anthology and the absolutely delightful issues of NESS (New Jirel ftw!!). Just an embarrassment of riches!! What looks good to you?

I ask this every now and then, and it's been about one now and then since the last time:
Anyone got examples of SEAsian sword-and-sorcery? This can be just sword-and-sorc written by SEAsian authors (like Walls of Shira Yulun), but preferably stuff in SEAsian-inspired settings by SEAsian authors.

Defy the Gods, a game of queer sword and sorcery, by Chrys Sellers. The cover is colorful and features three heroes fighting a giant, statuesque god. One hero is using magic while the other two have blades.
