We have been noticing for a few months now that there are discrepancies in our inventory— entire cases of ingredients going missing. Initially, we chalked it up to us miscounting, but after a few instances we began to look through our surveillance footage. We noticed that every time we checked our cameras, there were always periods of time where the cameras had been turned off by somebody.
This Monday, July 21 2025, we had done an inventory count. Fast forward to Tuesday July 22, we noticed several cases of items that were missing. Suspicious, we went to check the dumpster and found multiple cases of milk and tapioca pearls that had been thrown away. We want to clarify that these are NOT expired/old inventory. This was new, unused, unopened inventory that someone had purposely thrown out without our knowledge.
After investigation, we discovered it was done by the owners of Lepot. We suspect that the previous instances of missing ingredients were stolen/thrown away in similar circumstances. When confronted, they showed no remorse nor intention of apologizing. In the end, what started as a verbal disagreement escalated into a physical fight.
We have faced hundreds, if not thousands of dollars worth of loses due to the actions of the owners of Le Pot. In addition, we suspect that a viral post on a popular food group here on Facebook, falsely accusing Kung Fu Tea- Dinkytown of using old/ expired ingredients in our drinks, was also done by these same owners of Le Pot in an effort to further harm our business. They are purposefully doing this with malicious intent.

On Tuesday, New Yorkers delivered a mandate for a Mayor who puts working people first and makes this city affordable for all.

The mayor of New York is uniquely positioned to play an important role in the future of the national Democratic Party," Mr. Clyburn said in a statement, adding that Mr. Cuomo had the "experiences, credentials and character to not just serve New York, but also help save the nation."

That Clyburn thinks Andrew Cuomo is part of the future of the Democratic Party - and points to his character!!! — is the problem with the current Democratic Party leadership in a nutshell.

It's unacceptable that 3,000 grocery workers in Minnesota have been without a union contract for 3 months.

It's time for the CEOs of Cub Foods, Knowlan's & Haug's to end their outrageous corporate greed, negotiate in good faith with the UFCW & treat their workers with respect.

We need movements for real change, led by Idealists, who believe change is possible, Organizers, who build coalitions and practical strategies, Visionaries, who imagine better futures. Anyone out there fitting this description? Let’s do this!

I’m glad we’re in this together.

The way the Senate got steamrolled today—you’d think we were in the minority.

Heartbreaking day for immigrants, communities of color, and our base.
This is beyond fucked up.

Instead of bringing in more $$ by taxing the rich, we’re… cutting services from those who need it? We’re throwing our undocumented neighbors under the bus in partnership with Trump? In a time like this, we’re owed the *absolute* strongest leadership because the message this sends is very clear.

Apparently the only thing off the table in this budget deal is asking the wealthy to pay their fair share.

Ok some good news. The Twin Cities has one of the nation’s largest car-sharing fleets. 90% of their trips are now electric. Usage is up, membership is way up. I’d note: HourCar is not a VC play, it has been serving the region as a non-profit for 20 years.

Kelly Rogers is a student and Ward 2 resident.

She has studied the intersections of race and space in 20th-century American cities at the U.

And as a student, she’s seen firsthand the harms of private equity’s growing hold on the student rental housing market.

Congratulations, St. Paul electeds: you're the dog the caught the car. Yet again, you sold out the renters of your city who passed rent control via direct democracy. When building doesn't take off overnight, what will you blame instead? Shame on you.

Lesch is straight up arguing college students should not be allowed to vote at all in Minnesota. Setting aside voter suppression and disenfranchisement, that seems like that would be a bad precedent to set for the DFL's ongoing ability to win elections.

Tomorrow, nearly 300 unsheltered people in Minneapolis will be at the mercy of the storm, because our mayor’s ego is too big and he has to maintain the lie that unsheltered homelessness is down to 27 people.

Dismantling the legal and regulatory frameworks that hollowed out cities, transferred wealth to the suburbs, and then made it financially prohibitive to return is one of the great projects of urbanism.
