I think one way to move on that direction is employee-owned businesses. There's still a profit motive, but it's secondary to the treatment of the employees and their values.

I think the next great question for this research is:

Is it the non-masking that causes the reduction in suicide, or is it being in a social environment where the person is accepted as they are and thus don't need to mask that causes the reduction in suicide?

I suspect it's the latter.

Counterpoint:
What if you use your hurts to become the kind of person you needed, so you can help others who have similar hurts?

When assessing for suicide risk, try asking "What's the closest you've come to suicide?" rather than "Have you ever made a suicide attempt?". You'll get a deeper, more nuanced response.
