As an example, my father depends on VA mental health services. I think he’s earned it

So incredibly sad! If they go through with this many veterans will die, many by their own hand.

Veterans have earned their right to healthcare. Leaving them behind and cleaning up the carnage will be one of the saddest and most destructive policies in recent history.

The targeting of federal government employees telework policies is political zealotry at best, and it does not coincide with lessons learned from telework policies during COVID.

It’s actually quite simple. If your employees are happy they will be motivated to work harder.

And lastly, do not just thank a Veteran on Veterans Day. Let’s thank them everyday by ensuring that their earned access to healthcare and benefits remain a priority, and a foundation of American Society.

In the military we leave no man behind. It’s time for the nation to finally do the same.

Much like WW2 veterans our Vietnam Vets are starting to get old, and within one to two decades will no longer be around to give first hand accounts of their experiences. This is why it’s so important to support, and to engage the veteran community.

As part of my yearly visit I always leave behind my dolphins and a thank you card. The card to give thanks, and the dolphins as a symbol of the lesson my father taught my sister and I. That service to one’s country is one of the most important and selfless acts of a citizen.

Walk down the hill and you are met by a black granite wall displaying the names of those 58,000 souls who gave everything they had in Vietnam. The names are displayed in chronological order by their day of death in Vietnam.

If you have ever visited the National Mall in DC you will notice that of the three war memorials the Vietnam Memorial is the least celebratory, and the saddest. As you approach the memorial you are met by the three service men statue, watching and loyally guarding the names of 58,000 souls.

The reason for the visit a week before Veterans Day is out of respect to the thousands of Vietnam Veterans who visit the memorial on Veterans Day. Although open to the public, that is ultimately their place of honor, and healing.

During his three years in Vietnam my father earned two silver stars and an Army Distinguished Service Medal. The latter for staying behind and providing fire to support the evacuation of his entire platoon after being ambushed by the NVA.

My father served in the US Army and did 3 tours in Vietnam. He was drafted in 1967, and went off to war in 1968. He was one of two M-60 gunners in his platoon. He arrived in Vietnam three days before the start of the Tet Offensive.

I’m a little late to the party but better late than never.

For the last decade I have lived in Northern Virginia and I have made it a point to visit the Vietnam Memorial the week before Veterans Day.

Why the Vietnam Memorial, and why a week before?

With winter coming I think the best strategic plan the Ukrainians can execute is to disrupt or eliminate decimated supply lines.

Hard to continue to fight a war if your soldiers are starving and freezing.

Elon Musk's War Against Science, Evidence and Objective Truth Scientists are abandoning Elon Musk's Twitter amid a "mass extinction event" on the social media network, says Philipp Markolin.

Someone asked about the mass Xodus of scientists to Blue Sky. Here is a great explanation. It is great to be able to share scientific findings, intellectual discussions, critical analysis and interact with fellow scholars. NO to bots. NO to trolls. NO to algorithms set by an egotistical man-child!

Resist.

This isn’t about politics. It’s about basic consideration, empathy, humanity, and decency.

So no, we can’t be friends.
