After seven years, MIDI Guide has more than 300 instruments in its dataset! The round number compelled me to blog: midi.guide/blog/three-h...
Huge definition contributed by a community member for the Supercritical Redshift 6. I see a def like this and I know the synth is rad without even hearing it. midi.guide/d/supercriti...
A community member contributed this def for the Line 6 DL4 MkII Delay Modeler - as a non-pedal guy I'm consistently impressed at how well MIDI is implemented on pedals, meanwhile I keep buying overhyped synths that support 8 CC parameters and 7 of them are undocumented 🥴 midi.guide/d/line-6/dl4...
Couple of new synths added to the library! The best part of this project is when a contribution comes in for a synth I've *heard*, but never *heard of*, like the Kawai K5000S. midi.guide/d/kawai/k500...
Documentation for the Sonicware ELZ_1 play V2 is up - thanks for the contribution! midi.guide/d/sonicware/...
Just added MIDI CC implementation definitions for 23 of @chasebliss.bsky.social fantastic pedals: midi.guide/d/chase-bliss/
New support for the Novation Launch Control XL 3:
Now you can use MIDI Guide’s synth database to make a Custom Mode for your LCXL3 - no copying and pasting CC numbers required. #synthsky @synthsky.bsky.social

Added a definition for the MIDIbox SID v2.0. This is a DIY-only open synth from 2007. Very cool. 😎 midi.guide/d/ucappsde/m...
The Teenage Engineering OP-XY MIDI CC definition has been updated to include the undocumented (but tested!) parameters discovered by the OP-XY community. midi.guide/d/teenage-en...
Synthstrom Deluge owners using the beta of Community Firmware v1.3 can now import MIDI device definitions directly from MIDI Guide with the new export button. midi.guide/blog/adding-...
The new reliq-instruments.com is gorgeous (in a small part thanks to their amazing instrument definitions from midi.guide 🤩)
Brand new layout launched, easier to browse and use, with links to projects using the db (right now Neuzeit Drop and Condukt) midi.guide
Soma Labs: Here is a synth that leaks a mysterious black fluid while emanating demonic childlike whispers. It costs $1,600.
Teenage Engineering: Here is an OP-XY. It's $2,300 but it is compatible with LEGO.
Behringer: You're not going to BELIEVE what I found in the dumpster behind Moog's HQ.
"Found this in the dumpster is it worth anything?"
On the roadmap: support for more nuanced default values (see here: github.com/pencilresear...). Some manufacturers get very creative with CC/NRPN usage. Looking at you (with loving, smiling eyes), @elektron.se
A `Centered`-oriented row with usage of `0~127: Pan` means every value from 0 to 127 produces a different result, and the default value is 63. This should be a rotary encoder with a detent in the middle, or a fader, etc.
The end result is a CSV file, one per synth, with special rules governing the Usage column. For example, a usage value of `0-63: Off; 64-127: On`, with an orientation of `0-based`, specifies that all CC values from 0 to 63 should result in the same behavior (likewise from 64-127) - this is a switch.
Midi Guide's definition format is guided by two principles:
1. Normies can use the raw definitions as a reference, and even contribute to them, without using git or any other special software
2. The definitions are machine-readable such that they can be used to generate a complete UI for the synth
