That's very true. At least I can fix it or pay someone to versus calling somebody to ignore me
It's a blessing I get to own my own home, I mutter to myself as I try to stop the washing machine spraying water everywhere
But those children, the tiny number who because they are trans will only be happy being allowed to transition and grow up to be trans adults, have to be subjected to gatekeeping around FUCKING HAIRCUTS AND PREFERRED NAMES, in order to protect some cis queer kids from haircuts and preferred names.
England really gave us eight hours of sunlight and then said lol alright that’s enough of that
Always get a little mad that doing the things you're told to i.e. some exercise, some sunlight and some nature works
Feeling spiritually and emotionally healed after a 5k this morning in a county park
One of the purest examples of a moral panic in our time. A clinic that had years-long waitlists and required an average of 7 appointments before providing transition care smeared and shut down for being reckless.
Said it's like herding cats to somebody today who looked at me like I'd lost it and said "like cats? do you mean cows?"
A collage of six photos featuring two black-and-white tuxedo cats in a living room. In one image, both cats are stretched out together on a grey cat tree platform, one resting with paws dangling over the edge. Another shows one cat lying on its back on an orange sofa with its white belly exposed, looking wide-eyed at the camera. A third image shows one cat curled up in a round grey felt bed holding a transgender flag pumpkin.Another captures one cat peeking on a shoulder. The final close-up shows one of the cats sitting alert with large round eyes and distinctive black facial markings, including a black patch over the nose and eyes.
6 months of the boys
We're having a cake also so you could make your dreams of both true
Having a trio of dessert for my wedding and sticky toffee pudding as one was one of my wedding must haves
Having to panic find a new venue a few months before your planned wedding date, especially when you're getting married on a Saturday in August is a hell I don't wish on anyone
6 months to go until the wedding and today we had a meeting with our celebrant and finally got to sign the contract for our new venue

But trying to go further so for example saying “using identity-first language is harmful and unacceptable” (or the reverse) moves into contested norms within disabled communities, and that’s where currently the advice would flag free speech risk in.
This is where that good practise versus minimum expectations come in.
Saying “don’t discriminate against disabled people” is clearly Equality Act territory. We still at least have those protections so I'd mainly include that example under that.
I don’t mean this as self-pity; I’ve just yet to see a really good, worked example of how to do this well.
A big part of the challenge is simply working out how far we can push under this framework.
Operating in this level of regulatory grey, and trying to do the right thing without tipping into risk, is genuinely difficult.
immediate regulatory exposure than most Equality Act routes, which inevitably shapes training design.
To me, this is partly a failure of regulatory clarity, despite assurances that EDI isn’t in contention, the guidance is so unclear it makes operating confidently very difficult.
Oh I agree. But we’re getting strong legal advice that mandatory training must avoid anything that could be seen as prescribing beliefs or chilling lawful expression.
There’s also a risk-management reality: breaches of free speech duties now carry higher and more
As someone looking at it from the development side as well the current balance issue I'm having is balancing with the new academic freedom regulations, which are limiting confidence with what we can say beyond the legal frameworks.
Big meeting survived, time for Vietnamese
2nd year in a row of 52 books in a year. Going for the hat-trick
Time for some big ass Sunday scaries
Egg with legs
This year my main goal was to start doing something creative after doing basically nothing in well over a decade.
So here is some of the stained glass I ended up making this year
I too have decided 2026 is the time to be the fountain pen guy again

My endless thanks to @samreich.bsky.social for blessing these! 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️
These have really not made it out to the Game Changer fan community in the same way that the original trans versions did. It's a shame because I know there are people out there who would love them but the algorithm just isn't connecting us :/
