I was there.
Ok, not on the 🌖
Born in 65, I was too young to register the first landings, but I was obsessed with the final landings.

Bummed to hear that Dayton’s only (to my knowledge) boardgame pub, D20, is closing.

I'm asking for your nomination for "3 Witches" for the Golden Geek Awards.

It's listed under the Light category but I'd really appreciate your nomination under the "Innovative" category. I hope players recognize the new mechanisms 2-card hand resolution & card reuse.

My game design notebook is much more involved. I only carry it when I know I'll have a chance to sit quietly and design. The pencils and compass use the same 0.5mm lead. The kit keeps evolving. I posted pics on my site.

8.5cm compact ballpoint

Very nice!
I 💚 your watches, but I'm boring there. ⌚
I just updated to the Leatherman Wave Alpha. Perfect for me.
I carry a compact Walkie ballpoint for quick things.
Funny, for all the game stuff I do, I never carry cards.

Few tabletop podcast episodes are entertaining + informative. This one nailed it. An experienced designer asking tough questions from 2 honest & accomplished publishers.

I attest that working with Joe is exactly as he describes it. I’ll admit that I worry about having been too needy throughout. 😬

VVaaS? Ours went down last month. We didn't even have an old local Void for backup. I was so mad I was ready to... well, you know. But where?

Holy carp... a "Bored of the Rings" reference!

Our gaming group often chimed "...such magic..." whenever a spell failed miserably

I need a new void into which to scream.

Mine is almost full.

I think it was written as a series ender, but they got a 🚦 for season 4. Not sure how they’ll evolve but I can’t say I’m worried.

Love that. Thank you!

When one of the stars is significantly more massive than the others, I see a dog chasing birds.

🤔

I might have just discovered the animated version of a Rorschach test…

Still love these.

A few months ago, I started thinking about them as visual plots of love triangles with pairs interacting, growing closer, then growing distant. Some eventually coming together. Some never resolving.

Such a great feeling when your favorite show sticks the landing

I’m still mulling this over, but I’m coming around to your position

Uh huh. I get that.

Words change meaning over time.
I just personally don't want to utter that syllable anymore.

Dude needs to stick to the old testament if he wants to say shit like this.

I'm not a believer, but I know enough Biblical quotes and ideas attributed to Jesus to know that this is 180 degrees out of sync with his teachings.

What's your favorite alternate term for "trump" in trick taking games? I remember discussing this a few years ago, but I don't recall whether there was a consensus.

Dealing with Alzheimers stuff for my mom today. Lining up the transition from assisted living to the memory care wing at her elder care facility.

We are very much in the same biz!

In addition to game designs, I've created board game inserts, modular dice towers, compact alternatives for larger games, and (currently) some flat-pack terrain for a pseudo-miniatures game.

My forehead is still healing from trying to automate a few simple actions in Tabletop Simulator. That was back during COVID. My understanding is that other similar services are much better today.

I have several good IRL groups nearby. I’m lucky for that.

Another productive game design 🎲✂️ night!

I hope to print, cut, and sleeve a prototype prior to game night tomorrow night. Only a 48-card deck.

True that. To me, it's just a new way to create confusion.

I've noticed many large companies, usually in the marketing field, rebrand enterprise applications for internal use.

E.g., "YouPlace is our implementation of Workday" or "MoneyJunk is our internal name for our SAP deployment."

Q1: Have you seen this too?
Q2: WHHHYYY TF do they do this?

This is my new battle cry!

What the heck happened to having partners in games? Of course party games still do this, but seemingly few card or tabletop games accommodate partner play.

Not sure why anyone mentions the 25 amendment.

It requires action by the cabinet. THIS cabinet would be declaring open season on their own corruption investigations.

It will have to be impeachment.

Thanks for the heads up. I see why you linked me in on that.

I’ve back burnered that design, but good lookin’ out.
