This is where we are 2026: "How should immediate psychological gratification—from affirming moral responses to an artificial companion—be weighed against longer-term individual and collective outcomes? Who should determine where that balance lies?"

2025 not a great year for music, but this was a clear standout track. Fitting that it's about doing nothing or recovery. Stylish and mature, in many ways a classy template for alternative rock @wolfalicefans.bsky.social

Not the Xmas movie I was expecting, but a fine Xmas movie eitherway. I won't feel the same hearing the songs "The Air That I Breathe" or "Creep" ever again #Heretic #christmasmovies

That’s a wrap on Connectome 2025! 👏
Today has been another fantastic day, with special thanks to our keynote Prof Christian Haas, and Charles Sabine OBE who gave a powerful talk about his lived experience of Huntington's disease.
Thank you to everyone who made it such a great event!
Our annual conference, Connectome, is in full swing today!
As well as excellent science talks, this morning we heard an insightful discussion between Prof Siddharthan Chandran, Prof Miratul Muqit, and journalist @rorycj.bsky.social, who generously shared his experience of living with Parkinson's.
"Sympathy... is one of the noblest virtues with which man is endowed" Darwin. Amazing to hear the experience of Charles Sabine, diagnosed with Huntington's disease. Really reinvigorates why we choose the hard path of science @ucl-hd.bsky.social @ukdri.ac.uk @uclqsion.bsky.social
Dear @rorycj.bsky.social I deeply appreciate your commitment to Parkinson's disease and wish all affected patients and their families significant progress in the near future.
Great to speak to top brain scientists. (I mentioned the post I wrote about Elon Musk headlined Bonkers but Brilliant)
Great to hear from the Brilliant @rorycj.bsky.social on the fight against Parkinson's. Certainly Brilliant, not Bonkers @uclbrainscience.bsky.social @uclqsion.bsky.social @ukdri.ac.uk
Great to be at Dementia Research Institute annual meeting. Lots of great science @ukdri.ac.uk @uclqsion.bsky.social
