Where and How Book Censorship Is Impacting Children’s Publishing Right Now.
Publishing imprints for young readers are shuttering thanks to a softening school and library market. That's the result of book censorship.

A worker died at an Amazon warehouse in Oregon last week.
For more than an hour, workers were instructed to continue working as the man lay dead.
One worker wanted to help, but a manager told them to “Just turn around and not look. Let’s get back to work," according to @thewesternedge.bsky.social.

"The century-old library in Stanstead, Quebec [and Derby Line Vermont] that straddles the Canada-U.S. border now has a new door so Canadians can get in after the U.S. limited entry to the building last year."
I know a lot of you pitched in. Here's a nice update. 📚

Besides being...horrifying?, this is the absolute bullseye of the AI grift. Take something that's free and has always been free -- faith -- and put a price tag on it. If you use any of these tools, you are a sucker, and are being suckered, and the people who make this slop are laughing at you.
YEAH!
Hopefully next time!

One of my favorite things about Frozen, which came out when I was working as a nanny and a teacher, is that ALL the little kids I knew loved it and wanted to play as Elsa, including the boys.
This infuriating attitude shows up on the bookshelves in learning environments, too. We expect girls to empathize with boys, but we kneecap every opportunity to let boys empathize with girls. And look where we are.

I can't stop laughing at this post. It's perfect.
Oof. I don't know what the better word is for G-rated teen material, but "clean" ain't it. America just can't give up that Puritanical outlook.
MASSACHUSETTS, call your Senator! This bill that seems good but is bad. It's poorly worded and too vague, meaning there will be an inordinate amount of overreach and sites that should be readily accessible to all ages will have to require an ID to access. Tell your senator to vote it down!

The show announcement for the Amelie episode of This Ends at Prom
NEW EP!: AMELIE (2001) w/ @cosbrarian.bsky.social
This one's for the quirky girls! Let's discuss the American obsession w/ the aesthetics of French cinema, the fixation on fixing other people's problems to ignore your own, and a love of photobooths.
Listen wherever you get your podcasts!
This extremely stupid joke is brought to you by today's episode of @thisendsatprom.bsky.social where the Wives and I discuss the film that defined my AIM away messages for five straight years. podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/a...
For a start you need to get informed abt Prairieland. People making noise outside an ICE detention center hit with "ant!fa" terrorism charges. This is intended to have a cooling effect. If you can't care about this I don't expect you got what it takes to really resist

"Why don't Americans..." they do. There's brave acts happening out of sight everyday.
Why don't YOU support them when they get arrested or provide material cover for them?
Amelie watching a movie in the theater.

Still from Deep Impact of a tidal wave destroying NY as a man sits with his back to the wave reading the paper.
Deep Impact has this shot, when the comet hits the ocean and the tidal wave is destroying NYC, of a guy sitting with his back to the wave reading the paper. I love it so much. He just decided he didn’t believe it was happening, I guess? Or didn’t care? Anyway. He is congress.

I'm currently in the "Parents keep asking me for kids book club and then no one comes to kids book club" predicament myself.
The majority of The Last Five Years fans follow the Jamie Sucks/Justice for Kathy POV. It's a more interesting show when you empathize with both. Divorce sucks no matter how amicable. Cheating doesn't make him a bad person. It's a more heartbreaking show when you own that. Anyway, cast me as Jamie.
Looks exactly the same now lol
