I take a reusable mesh and modify the vertices based on the terrain heightmap near the building. Each tile then gets its texture UVs modified based on whether it has a neighbor or not - that way, tiles on the edge get a glowing border and those in the middle are a solid color

Finally added this nifty area-of-effect display so you can see which resources your buildings will interact with

I found the setting that turns off "You're not done setting up your PC" popup every time you update Windows!

Settings / System / Notifications / Scroll to find 'Additional Settings' and uncheck these

Working on code to generate some rivers. Here is a visualization of trying out river paths from different starting locations. It flows downhill, sometimes creates wide rivers & lakes, and terminates when it hits the ocean or another river
