I've been trying to get rid of my cd collection over the last year or so. Most of them have simply been collecting dust and I switched to digital listening and DJing. It's surprising how difficult it is to get rid of a cd collection if you don't want to just toss it. Buying is much easier.

When I play a dj set, I spend about the same time preparing it as I would performing. Mostly digging for new music, making playlists and rehearsing transitions. I still leave plenty of room for spontaneity in my set though. How long to you prepare your sets?

The people that I know who are buying from Bandcamp are djs who need files. Honestly, if I wasn't djing then I'd likely not buy from Bandcamp either.

Very cool! I recently looked into tape plugins as I wanted a bit of a vintage sound for a recent track I've been working on. For someone who has never worked with actual tape recorders this seems like a deep rabbit hole. I do like some of the effects that you can get from these machines.

This December, I'll dedicate my final radio show of the year to the theme of "winter solstice". I've done that before and usually play more mystic and atmospheric electronic music. Very open for recommendations, especially ambient releases. What music in that space did you enjoy recently?
