This is the only thing IDF ground forces know how to do. They aren't an army. They're an amateur demolition crew with guns.

“We’re not going to be wearing suits that are wool blends, I’m hearing. I know a lotta guys in the garment industry, big successful guys, and they’ll be very sad about this. Not being able to do blends anymore. But we’ve gotta do what it says in *spicy voice* DEUTERONOMY.”

Based on the perception that bombing a lot of countries is a sign of strength

I don't think this movement really has a future anymore. My guess is that it dwindles into something resembling the MEK.

I want the US and Israel to lose the war. That doesn't mean I support the Islamic Republic. But Iranians deserve a genuine opposition movement, not a reactionary cult.

Iranian-Canadians in the comments are still trying to explain away the Israel and Trump flags. You can't. It's over. The Monarchists have been very clear that they love Trump, love Israel, hate Islam, hate Arabs, hate leftists, and want the bombing of Iran to continue.

Aren't they supposedly making 10k Shaheds a month? Even if the real number is lower, I expect their Shahed supply is virtually unlimited.

Moreover, as articles like this one demonstrate, there are actually a diversity of views among the Iranian diaspora. Not all of them get equal air time.

Word to the wise: "listen to [X] voices" is a reasonable ask, but listening does not mean deferring to.

Additionally, and I hate to say this, but we were right about Trump and Netanyahu's intentions on Iran, and you were wrong to believe that the US-Israeli invasion could overthrow the IRI.

To the diaspora Iranians who felt abandoned by the pro-Palestine left earlier this year, this is a significant part of the reason why we did not show up at your anti-IRI protests. You will not find very many leftists who are pro-monarchy or pro-war, much less pro-Israel or pro-Trump.

I was not even aware of the Iranian Monarchist movement-in-exile until two years ago. But everything about them in this article rings true. They are bullies who use mafia tactics to uphold the cult of Pahlavi among the Iranian diaspora.

Killing of Iranian activist in B.C. exposes increasingly bitter divisions within the diaspora Masood Masjoody had a long history of firing accusations at those he considered adversaries. So when he claimed on social media last fall that two fellow Iran-born activists were plotting to kill him,...

Turns out Reza Pahlavi's monarchist cult was responsible for this murder.

It takes an extraordinary pipeline of American munitions (JDAMs, interceptor missiles, etc), systems, parts and maintenance to sustain the IDF's extraordinary pace of operations. US material support is the main reason Israel can wage war on several fronts simultaneously.

It's kind of darkly funny how Israel first sank Biden, then sank Trump in much the same way. Either of them could've easily said "No". Instead, both were equally outsmarted by Netanyahu. An indictment of the US political system.

Whether Trump is a capital-F Fascist by the strictest definition is debatable, but it also doesn't really matter except to academics.

Bessner claimed at one point in 2024 or 2025 that Trump wasn't exactly a fascist because Trumpism lacks the mass politics of 20th century fascism. I think that's a reasonable point, but it's also more of a semantic one than a normative one.

I'm kind of baffled as to why Bessner gets so much hate here, or why he's lumped in with guys like Shell. I'd never heard of Shell before, but his take is very bad, and I've never seen or heard anything comparable from Bessner.
