@hookland.bsky.social High Desert Hum
More of a crackle than a hum, though. Trapped telegram ghosts and 14.4 baud modem screams.
Same here. Recently heard a Metallica cover they did and it reminded me to listen to them again. So good!

It's the table lamps by the beds with the cheap polyester duvet that really light the scene.

Tadanori Yokoo is a legendary artist who revolutionized 1960s visual culture by blending traditional Japanese motifs with psychedelic Pop Art. His work is a maximalist explosion of vibrant colors, surreal collages, and spiritual themes that challenged the era's minimalist norms.
For Pitchfork's "Saturday Tracks" column, I wrote about my favorite Minutemen song, the late great D. Boon, their vision of punk as a means of working-class solidarity, and the television show known as "Jackass":
Excerpt from "Our Band Could Be your Life": With inspirational lines like "I live sweat but I dream light-years," the Minutemen felt their music was by, for, and about the working person. "The first thing is to give workers confidence," Watt said. "That's what we try to do with our songs. It's not to show them 'the way' but to say, 'Look at us, we're working guys and we write songs and play in a band.' It's not like that's the only thing to do in life, but at least we're doing something -- confidence. You can hear some song that the guy next to you at the plant wrote. The working-person idea ran deep.
I like to think of the Minutemen as a missing link between Creedence and Fugazi, not just in their music but also their belief that music should be available and accessible to the working masses
im way less joking than yall would like to think
