If your Commander deck doesn't run smoothly, these are the 3 things you should consider doing in order of importance imo:

1) lower your mana curve
2) add an appropriate amount of lands
3) add more cheap card draw spells

I have to admit I have neglected point 1 for some of my decks for too long
