The fact that Ruby's introduced to us via a Who Do You Think You Are special just solidifies it. The whole dang mystery of who Ruby was meant to be was something we were meant to sink our teeth into from the very beginning!

An enforced power cut has given me a perfect excuse to give some of the collection a dust down and rearrangement.
I mean - this was ABSOLUTELY meant to have been the masterplan all along. In retrospect, it's wild to see how the clues fit together so obviously but were still left in the finished episodes. Just *how* last minute were all of those changes??
we all know I have no life, so:

If you enjoy retro stuff like The Prisoner, Joe 90 and The Avengers (UK) but also love comics like Miracleman and The Invisibles, this should be right up your alley!

like I have Opinions about Mad Cave (and a few warnings, esp for female creators) that I will happily share in the DMs but none of the people laid off are part of that (in many cases they were actively trying to make the pub better/ more inclusive) and my heart goes out to them
MCU films were fun to dip in and out of because all these fan-fav characters would show up and keep looking for those stones.
What's been the deal since Endgame? Multiverse shenanigans that got canned because Jonathan Majors was an abuser so now we gotta bring back RDJ to save everything?
Yeah, that's an unavoidable factor. Hard to imagine being a newer fan nowadays and having way too much material to catch up on between nearly 20 years' worth of films and an evergrowing pile of TV spin-offs.
Jesus. Support and kindness to those laid off at Mad Cave. I've never worked with the publisher but comics is a small world and it is tragic to see yet another group of talented editors and staff lose their jobs.

I haven't actually seen a Marvel film since Endgame, which I thoroughly enjoyed - and promptly lost all interest in seeing more. But I'm fascinated by the level of goodwill that's been burned by MCU in recent years. Seems like we're all just a bit bored of it?
I am too hot to do homework for entertainment.
Surely the weirdest Neil Young song I've heard so far in my life.
www.youtube.com/watch?v=rObF...
The more you listen, the more it makes sense that Young opted for Tonight's the Night over Homegrown. Both are emotionally distraught records, but Tonight's the Night at least has some good rock and roll on there. Homegrown is a sullen, naked, trippy ride.
Neil Young's Homegrown struggled to strike me when I first listening to it. But recently, I've really been soaking my ears in it and... it's such a weird, bleak, mesmerising record. Those 70s Young albums all share that stench of heartbreak and cocaine, but this one... damn.
2 copies of Jacques And The Great Art Theft sit basking in sun light. they look resplendid in their canary yellow covers.
My beautiful hand holds open a page of the Jacques comic. In this sequence Jacques is descending from rooftops gracefully only to be foiled by a pesky pigeon.
Once again my ageless and delicate fingers hold open a page of the Jacques comic, in which our titular hero is springing through the air in a perfect somersault to catch their errant umbrella
My withered and taloned claw like hand holds open the first 2 pages of the Jacques comic. It's an establishing shot that shows that Jacques lives in Paris, lives in a shabby apartment and is struggling to find his gloves.
I'm working on a new Jacques book of short stories. But in order to do that I need to sell some of the old books so that I can pay my colourist!

Office days are always great fun, because I get to walk into the classroom towards the end of the session and cause some minor end-of-day chaos where the kids ask "OMG, Fred, where've you beeeeennn?" and they simply *must* tell me about their day.
Oh damn a bunch of layoffs at Mad Caveβ¦ friends if you have a book there you may want to check in on status (and that your editorβs still employed)
The Siege lad is a stodgey boy, but he suits my need for a modern Generations Astrotrain fine. The shuttle and train modes are really enjoyable.
I think the greatest trick for getting good at creative work i know is - finish making as many mediocre things as possible. Just finish stuff, again and again. Share it or donβt, but put a bow on it, put it aside, make the next thing, repeat.
Wanted to show you this post in English because itβs so good and we truly are a global village

In the world of TV tie-in publishing, I'd say these are the key things to understand that help you get a foot in the door:
- Know who owns the rights to the IP you're writing about.
- Have a track record of previous publications.
- Develop a pitch for something not done before.
