I struggles with the physical book (ADHD and mom brain) but I just finished the audiobook and it was SO GOOD. 4.5 āļø

When you put your headphones in to listen to your book while you work and canāt figure out why youāre hearing a Baby Shark video instead, then remember you didnāt quit YouTube after your toddler watched your phone while you did her hair⦠DEFINITELY not my current audiobook š š (Gold- Raven Kennedy)
Does Raven Kennedy know the word ābrownā? I should go through and count the number of time she says, ābark coloredā in the Plated Prisoner seriesā¦

While itās not even quite drinking age (in the states, 21), Iām still SUPER impressed with how well Going Postal has held up and stayed relevant. The political and economical commentary is šš¤
But on the other hand- 20 years later and weāre still dealing with this capitalist bull$h!t?? šš
āThe others⦠bickering over trigonometry. Moist tried not to listen; he got lost when maths started to get silly.ā #relatable
I love when an author finds a clever way around specifics and details of a system they donāt *need* to explain. Pratchett does this beautifully in Going Postal. The protagonist just zones out and explains WHY he doesnāt need the info, then zones back in for the point. š
I truly cannot fathom the continued HP fandom. I get that you love it- but how can you support something created by and benefiting someone so hateful?

This book was pretty formulaic, but there were still surprises at every turn (nothing groundbreaking) and while the pace was only medium, it kept me coming back for more. Overall, would recommend, but I donāt expect it to be the next big thing on BookTok.

I didnāt hate it, I didnāt love it. The premise sounds great as a way for the FMC to come to terms with her past, but I found the characters unlikable and was annoyed by the relationship the plot rests on. Iāll be skeptical to read others from this author.
āA thinking tyrant, it seemed to Vetinari, had a much harder job than a ruler raised to power by some idiot vote-yourself-rich system like democracy. At least he could tell the people he was their fault.ā
Terry Pratchett, Going Postal
Going Postal 17%- Weird without being abstract. Could be more engrossing but is low stakes enough to be cozy while high stakes enough to be engaging.
I thought Iād get over it but Iām not⦠his name is MOIST!? Sir Terry? Why??
Iāve really struggled lately to find the balance between fighting back and staying hopeful and being present without losing my whimsy. I think Mr. Pratchett might help me walk that line.
āSteal five dollars and you're a common thief. Steal thousands and you're either the government or a hero.ā Terry Pratchett, Going Postal
The Fastest Way to Fall, Page 75: I know itās early but Iām not into it yet. The banter isnāt banter-ing and the āthinking about themā thing feels weird when they donāt know what the other looks like? āYes,ā crossed a line. Iām also really bummed out by all the mysterious trauma in MMCās backstory.
Page 43: I love the very specific ways they talk about weight loss related to the fitness world. Denise talked about the ādescription in the mirrorā scene at her Book Fest panel and I didnāt love it, but it wasnāt the worst Iāve read by far, and I see the purpose.
Where do you go to read/ post book reviews?
I have my booksta account but I regularly have to cut down my review due to the character limit- my most recent is 2636, 436 characters over. Itās 444 words, plus I like to add other info like rating, trigger warnings, genre and trip, spice level, etc.
I finished Unravel Me. I didnāt hate it, but Iām glad itās over. I still havenāt decided if Iāll continue the series. My favorite Goodreads review:
Subject: Helen 2.0
Time of Death: 10:23pm
Cause of Death: Massive Brain Aneurysm due to Excessive Eye-Rolling
Primary Suspect: Juliette Ferrars
Reading Unravel Me by Tahereh Mafi (Book 2 in the Shatter Me series) and I am so invested in the premise but I think itās just too YA for me- processing everything through the internal lense of a traumatized 17 year old in a love triangle is distracting at best, agonizing at worst. Am I just old? š
Going to try live⦠skeeting? as I read. At least an update after a day of reading.

Where is the funny book content on BlueSky? I see tweets screenshotted and posted to instagram but I canāt find anything like that here. Not saying the content here is bad in anyway, just looking for more of the goofy, meme-y stuff!
As an aspiring book reviewer and avid book lover, I have a dilemmaā the second I finish a book, I remember almost NOTHING. š How do you keep track of what youāre reading without taking detailed notes? How do you take notes on an audiobook?
