Last night’s ICE abduction near 20th & Central didn’t happen in a vacuum. Friday morning they were found stalking people at Huset Park and earlier in April they kidnapped someone near East Phillips community center.

Y'know, this whole thing could be over if someone would just tell Trump that Obama can hold his breath for fifteen minutes.

I'm not joking when I say mRNA technology is more important than "AI" and it's a tragedy we're throwing billions into one while our government is aggressively defunding the other.

Mamdani hasn't had time to really think about all that space he now has, because he spends most of his time at City Hall and around New York City. He tries to keep a semblance of his old life by getting around the city on foot, by bike or train.

"If you spend every single day driving around in a tinted window security detail, you will have a very specific view of the city," he said. "You actually meet other New Yorkers and you break out of the bubble that so many have come to expect of politics, where politicians only seem to be spending time with other politicians or the people who donated to make them politicians."

I'd say that this applies to anyone traveling in a car in any city. Being in a car versus walking, riding, or taking transit fundamentally changes how you view a place and your relationship to it. I wish more leaders set this kind of example.

The 21st century will be won by the states that, in a developed world where skilled young people are increasingly in short supply, are able to overcome their own xenophobia to welcome the future

Day 16 of #30DaysOfBiking

I took our 7yo & their best friend to the grocery store and park.

On our way home we spotted another @bunchbike.com, so I sped up so we could say hi to our bike twin (who I didn’t know).

Things I don’t do in my car. ☺️

We thought Panod was getting breathless at the top of hills on our rides due to having taken some time off riding from his broken arm & his age (had just turned 50.)

Sometimes we only see what our bodies are telling us in hindsight.

So grateful for your positive experience! Ride on!!

I like to imagine that Zohran Mamdani, Socialist African-born Muslim, was literally willed into existence by the collective psychosis of the Tea Party GOP over Obama, like the ectoplasm under NYC in Ghostbusters II

You may have tried actual therapy… but have you tried bike therapy?

Did my favorite 10 mile route that is 95% on protected bikelanes, includes Bryant, the Greeway, 2 lakes and a creek.

Evanston learned Flock was sharing data with other communities that then shared data with ICE, so mayor/Congressman-elect Daniel Biss canceled the contract for violating the terms, & had city workers cover up the cameras until Flock retrieved them.

The hilarious part of the right being so terrified of cities, particularly mine: they're telling on themselves that they don't think they could just be themselves and be accepted by people who don't know them.

I said it during George Floyd and I'll say it again now: I ain't afraid of my neighbors.

Hungary is partying like it’s 2026

The man dancing is Zsolt Hegedus, slated to become Hungary’s health minister.

He is dancing to a club remix of the resistance song “The Hanging Tree” from The Hunger Games: The Mocking Jay.”

How fitting!

How did your bike enrich your life, fix your finances, or change your family's daily routine?

A Stanford study showed stories are 22x more memorable than facts. If we want to get people out of cars, throwing emissions stats at them won't cut it.

Humans need stories. Tell me yours. 👇

"They said no, and they're not just saying no to me. They're saying no to the people of New Jersey. They're saying no to the American people, that we don't deserve to know what is happening in this war waged in our name."

The European city banning all fossil fuel and meat adverts in public Amsterdam initially proposed the move in 2020, becoming the first city in the world to do so.

“Amsterdam is set to ban climate-damaging advertising [fossil fuel & meat adverts] in public spaces, following a trend spreading across Dutch cities.

France has also enacted legislation outlawing adverts from non-renewable energy companies, & one Italian city has plans to do the same.” #UrbanTruth
