Hardcover copy of King Sorrow by Joe Hill resting on my legs
I finished King Sorrow — Incredible
My hand holding a paperback copy of Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir
LOVED Project Hail Mary. Finished just in time for the movie
Those editions 😍
Learned that I have 4 Audible credits (idk how). Has anyone listened do any good audiobooks lately?
400+ words added to the WIP
Took my laptop on vacation with the goal of adding 1000+ words to the WIP while away—and I did about ~2000! They’re not great words (a lot of free writing/sprinting). So most of them probably won’t survive. But it’s material I can build on 😌
Entering the revision stage on this!
Finished it! Wild stuff. I can already see why the next one, God Emperor of Dune, is so divisive 😅
Holding a paperback copy of Children of Dune by Frank Herbert, legs covered by a blue throw blanket, grey socked feet poking out
Been reading Children of Dune off and on since July (!!!) and I’m determined to finish it before I start anything new
I always answer this with 2001, to name a few:
Fellowship of the Ring
Mulholland Dr.
Shrek
Gosford Park
Memento
A.I.
Monster’s Inc.
A lot of Mario Bava films too! That’s what I’ve been using Kanopy for lately 🖤
Really enjoyed this!
Tomas Boykin as Jasper, a postal inspector depicted holding a piece of paper
Spoke with a postal inspector today and was reminded of how much I enjoyed Dead Mail (available on Shudder)
Holding a copy of Golish Tales: issue four - new ghouls edition while sitting on a blue sectional in green jeans and grey socks.
Excited to crack open the issue of Ghoulish Tales that just hit my mailbox, courtesy of @ghoulish.bsky.social 🖤
Lately, Melinda’s Fire Roasted Garlic & Habanero and Fire Roasted Jalapeño
The first page of “The Eight-Thousanders” by Jason Sanford
“The Eight-Thousanders” by Jason Sanford (in Best Horror of the Year, Volume 13) is the kind of writing I aspire to.
Tumbbad rules! (as do Impetigore and Exhuma!)
I’m an unabashed Shakespeare in Love guy, and Tom Stoppard’s script was one of the first screenplays I read when I started studying film. It left an indelible impression on me. We’ve lost a true titan
“Capitalism is the killer of dreams” is the realest shit
“It’s all for you!”
LOVED this story! “A Deed without a Name” by @jacklothian.bsky.social in Best Horror of the Year, Vol. 13
A paperback copy of The Last House on Needless Street rests on my lap, which is covered by a blue and white throw blanket
The Last House on Needless Street by @catrionaward.bsky.social is unlike anything I’ve ever read. I can’t recall the last time a novel engaged and challenged me, as a reader, to such a degree
Not an awards voter, but I love seeing all the eligibility. Bookmarking as recs ✌🏼
Lost, season 5 (controversially?)
My group liked it a lot 😭 😁
My writing got so much better (and I started to love it again) when I stopped being so concerned with how others/publishers *may* perceive it
Yes! One the biggest surprises of the year for me. Love a movie that makes me go “wtf?!” every 10 minutes
Really digging Pluribus so far! Was gagged to see a certain soap star from my childhood pop up in a small but crucial role
