In a letter to state health officials earlier this month, Ronald Ward -- the acting head of SNAP -- warned that "if the current lapse in appropriations continues, there will be insufficient funds to pay full November SNAP benefits for approximately 42 million individuals across the Nation."

These people are going to turn me into a conspiracy theorist.
This is truly insane. We are witnessing one of the most corrupt cover-up schemes in history—and it's all playing out in plain view.
BREAKING: An Ohio police officer has been placed on leave after using force to remove protesters blocking a bridge during an anti-ICE demonstration.
Sickening!
I’ll watch Stephen Colbert wherever he lands.
So much for that “line.”

When a government starts targeting former intelligence officials, law enforcement leaders, and anyone who once investigated or criticized those in power, it’s not just a red flag, it’s a page straight from the authoritarian playbook.

Trump announced Wednesday that Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy will temporarily lead the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, weeks after Trump withdrew an Elon Musk-linked entrepreneur as his pick to lead the space agency.

Temporary restraining order by Judge lasts 14 days and directs DHS to "take all steps necessary to ensure that Medicaid funding continues to be disbursed" to Planned Parenthood.
IRS just cleared churches to endorse candidates without losing tax-exempt status, blowing up 70 years of precedent.
Faith now becomes a direct political weapon, officially sanctioned.
Expect supercharged election sermons and a new flood of dark money cloaked as “faith.” This changes everything.
Red flag: The IRS has said in a court filing that churches and other houses of worship can endorse political candidates from the pulpit — carving out an exemption in a decades-old ban on political activity by tax-exempt nonprofits.
I agree with Ted Cruz that now isn’t the time to politicize any deaths.
I just wish Ted Cruz would agree with Ted Cruz the next time something happens in a blue state and he decides to be a partisan fuckwit.
WaPo: Trump announces tariffs of at least 25 percent on Japan, South Korea. "Korea .. has ... a free trade agreement with the US.. “This certainly calls into question the value of a free trade agreement with the US" (Ya think?)

Dozens of federal officers in tactical gear were deployed to LA’s MacArthur Park, in a neighborhood with a large immigrant population. It wasn’t immediately known if any arrests were made.
“What I saw in the park today looked like a city under siege, under armed occupation,” said Mayor Karen Bass.
Mayor Bass: This morning, it was frightening in Los Angeles to see tanks essentially rolling into MacArthur Park.
It was an egregious show of force. I have no idea what their purpose was. I don’t even think they detained anyone.
Los Angeles was peaceful before June 5. We need to go back to that.
I've obtained a trove of leaked documents about today's federal crackdown on Los Angeles' MacArthur Park. One revelation is its codename: "Operation Excalibur"

The Heritage Foundation's Project 2025 called for dismantling the NOAA, which provides warnings of natural disasters, such as the deadly floods in Texas. The irony is that Heritage wanted these cuts because it’s angry that NOAA helps prove the reality of climate change--the thing causing floods.
Nor will I.
Is he aware that R in BRICS stands for Russia and that he conveniently forgot to tariff it?
