"Making waves" in a subset of the sector only. Ignores commercial fiction and non-fiction (not "literary" prize winning) as well as digital (not in TCM).

We don’t just need to encourage our children to read, we need to become a much louder voice in the national conversation:

Are you diving into the world of #commercialfiction with #cosycrime, a gripping murder mystery, WWII #historicalfiction, a #romancenovel, or a chilling #psychologicalthriller? Then an #Agent121 with Saskia Leach could be for you! 📚 Secure your spot: iaminprint.co.uk/agent121

Guinness West Indies Porter especially 😋

I am not competing here but it snowed here yesterday ❄️ (November!!) and therefore I made a beef and buckwheat casserole. Just the ticket but would have been even better with lardons. And Guinness obviously.

Why not all literary agents want to read your synopsis Rather than providing the useful promised roadmap of a novel, I feel synopses suck the life out of it

Why every author should be aware of the Berne Convention The world, pretty much, all got together and agreed something fundamental about copyright.

The framework for copyright that protects you & your work was agreed in 1886 by pretty much the entire world & endures today. Until maybe it doesn’t...

4 years ago, I started writing a book & almost immediately gave up. Then, tens of thousands of people responded to a Christmas M&S story I wrote on the other place & gave me the confidence that, if I finished it, someone might actually read it.
That book is now nominated for an award.

Today: meeting. training, meeting. emails. meeting. desk lunch. fresh air walk. emails. meeting. break (book a restaurant for a publisher lunch). then it all goes FIRE (in a good way). Have to take break, kids need tea. Back at desk for the evening shift. #writingcommunity

Literary agents do a lot of strategy. This morning I have one strategic meeting followed by another strategic meeting... will need some fresh air at lunchtime! #writingcommunity

I'm here at the new manor!

What've I been doing today? Work, at my desk, apart from the AAA quarterly meeting (online) and doing a LIVE w/ #TheWritingSphere at lunchtime giving feedback to pitches. Fun (for me), bit daunting but useful for the aspiring authors.
