HC110 is a pretty awesome developer. For all the right reasons.

Recycling film codes seems problematic.

If it’s an SLR, it has a mirror. Canon liked playing around with Pellicle mirrors. They are half silvered. They reflect half the light for viewing and transmit the other half for exposure. That’s how they managed their first high speed cameras. No mirror flopping up and down the slow things.

Ironically, if tri-x had been discontinued or renamed, I would not care at all. No love for that film.

The best is when people don’t really know and you don’t have to tell them. People don’t typically scrutinize a painter on what brush they use. They simply enjoy the painting.

They make subtle formulation tweaks more often than you would expect. Gotta keep those engineers busy.

It’s taken me a long time, but I’ve learned to enjoy digital not looking like film. The controls in a raw converter let you do things film can’t. And that can be pretty awesome.

The rebranding of tmax is an odd one. Uphill marketing for sure. Think about all the online TMax resources that just became obsolete. Makes me wonder if there also wasn’t a subtle formulation change to satisfy any legality conflicts.

Why not just use your favorite 400 film at 200?

I say that about a lot of different subjects 😂

Gotcha. A little bit of film not developed, but just fixed and washed would show the density of the film base without the effects of developer. Would give clues as to what’s up.

I’m curious what a small strip looks like just fixed, not developed. Is it the film base or a chemical fog? If intentional, seems like that would limit the dynamic range of the film.

Going back another gen or two to cassettes. Embracing LoFi for some audio endeavors. More accurately, mixing old and new tech. Experimenting.

I have a roll of tpu.. have yet to load it up and try it out. I do like multi color printing! When in doubt, add bling!

If you had a two colors and a printer that handles multiple colors… green/black for the win. Nice design work btw!

I appreciate it. If he’s reluctant to ship, not the end of the world. He’s completely in the right to make decisions he’s comfortable with. I have an alternate located.

Thanks!

I just called and they wouldn’t sell it to me…. I was told you don’t ship anything due to fraud. I’d like to buy it if we can work that out.

You guys don’t ship? 😢
